Welcome to the scary side of fashion, also known as The 2023 Grammy Awards! Truth be told, not every Grammy look was terrible this year, but musicians are notorious for their “unique” sense of fashion. It’s somewhere between trying to make a statement and trying to get everyone looking at them. It’s not every year that we focus on the Grammys, the biggest night of fashion (and music) in the music industry. But here it is – the best, the worst and the most showstopping Grammy Awards 2023 fashion, led by your favorite ladies of music and fashion Beyonce, Cardi B, Taylor Swift, Adele and Jennifer Lopez.
Grammy Awards 2023 Fashion
Let’s start with Lizzo. Because how could you not?

It’s not Lizzo if it’s not extravagant. Some say she was hiding in this look, but she was really just having a moment.
Lizzo couldn’t stop Ms. Beyonce from having a historical moment, though. Beyonce has officially taken the record for most Grammy awards won ever. She has won 32 times. At the 2023 Grammy Awards she won four awards, including three for songs from her album Renaissance and one for the album itself. And of course, in this Gucci number, she looked good doing it. But apparently she almost didn’t make it? When she missed coming to the stage for the first awards, Trevor Noah told the crowd she was stuck in traffic. Not sure how anyone could be stuck in traffic on music’s biggest night, but hey, it’s Beyonce. She can be fashionably late.
We know Cardi B is her own person but she’s been rivaling Lady Gaga’s showstopping looks at the Grammys for years. I have to say that this one is a beauty, though. I’m a huge fan of architectural looks and the blue is striking. Fashion art at its finest.
I’m not a fan of Taylor Swift, but I am a fan of this blue number by Robert Cavalli. You don’t see a lot of two piece looks at awards shows, probably for fear that it won’t appear classy (and often it doesn’t), but Taylor makes it work. Considering she skipped the ceremony last year and wore too much floral in 2021, this look was a nice return to the ceremony.
Had Adel worn this burgundy velvet Louis Vuitton number without the strange ruffles and banded waist, I think I would have liked it more. But alas, it’s the Grammys. Cutest moment of the night: Adele meeting The Rock, who carried out his own fashion moment in a mustard-colored satin suit.
There was no real reason for Jennifer Lopez to be at the Grammy Awards last night, except, of course, her star power and boy did she bring it in this gorgeous plunging rhinestone-covered Gucci number. Does it live up to that infamous plunging green Versace? Well, not sure. But it does have its own finesse, even if it didn’t keep Ben Affleck from looking bored and miserable.
Doja Cat is quickly becoming a fashion star in her own right. Did you see her at the haute couture shows? I actually thought this look was a little downplayed, if you compare it to what she’s now capable of wearing. It’s nice and all. Gothic. And she’s having her Versace moment.
You may or may not agree, but honestly, this is my favorite look of the night. Viola Davis is wearing color and trends and she doesn’t look like she’s trying too hard. She really hit it out of the ball park with this Naeem Khan number. And now she’s part of the prestigious EGOT list. EGOT stands for Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony. She’s won all 4.
Grammy Awards Fashion Standouts
Here are a number of other looks that stood out – for better or worse.
Let’s just say these looks were a little too over-the-top.
She gives new meaning to the word “cowgirl.”
Blac Chyna or Black Swan? Not really sure what’s going on here in this bedazzled, feather moment.
A number of people praised Bebe Rexha for her “Barbiecore” but I am not loving this hot pink, cutout look.
