The holidays are upon us and with thoughts of traveling in a post-pandemic world, dealing with shortages and supply-chain issues, and all the typical holiday stress, shopping for gifts might be the last thing on your mind. However, it is still the season and you might want to show your friends and family some love in the form of a gift. This is where our gift guides come in. Chances are there are at least a few people on your list who are nearly impossible to shop for or simply have everything, but we have solutions.
Holiday Gifts For The Impossible To Shop For
Check out these gift ideas and when truly in doubt, there’s always the option of cold hard cash – in a cute change purse or pouch, naturally!
Phone Cases, Chargers and Batteries
A dead or dying phone or tablet is practically an emergency and one that can be prevented if you have a spare battery, charging case, or charging puck like this wireless one from Heyday on hand.
Plus, there are so many sleek and stylish phone cases and chargers out there. If your recipient (or you, because we believe in gifting yourself as well) already has plenty of charges, a case for earbuds or headphones might be welcome, or a Bandolier pouch so their phone is always at the ready.
There is nothing like sorting out your jewelry, scarves, fragrances, beauty products, or other items to help you really see what all you really have and bring old favorites to the forefront of your mind when you’re getting dressed. We’re big fans of clear organizers like this one from HBLife via Amazon for our vanities and bathroom counters or space-saving hanging bags like this one from LLBean for travel.
Mugs, Canteens and Warmers
A great water bottle or thermos is eco-friendly and practical, but a higher-end one is something people are unlikely to splurge on themselves. Plus with all the functional and fashionable options nowadays, you might want to have one in your favorite color or print. And you can never have too many really.
If your giftee loves coffee, tea, or other hot beverages, an Ember mug will likely not go amiss. We’re also like the Corkcicle insulated steel for chilled drinks and they come in all kinds of colors and patterns, along with characters from various fandoms. Of course, we like the leopard print tumblers and stemless glasses but there’s something for everyone!
Fewer of us are going back to the salon still and everyone needs a kit for touch-ups anyways. There are fun sets at all price points and in all styles, so there is bound to be something that fits the bill. Add a little bit of luxe to their at-home mani-pedis with this Barbour Aydon kit – we’re big fans of the leather case with the classic Barbour plaid lining.
We (almost) always need socks, especially if your recipient lives somewhere with freezing winters. Plus, there is something great about having a super cozy pair in your favorite color or print that just makes everything more comfortable.
If you’re wary about gifting someone socks for a holiday that is supposed to be more about fun, never fear. Although you know you’re an adult when you are excited about new socks, and these options are hardly boring. Go for majorly cozy like these fleece-lined socks from Nordstrom or these playful Alpaca socks from Warrior Alpaca and treat your loved ones to toasty toes all winter.
If you really want to remove the stress from your shopping this season, buy your friends and family something that doesn’t even require you (or them) to get off the couch, then a content subscription like HBO Max, Hulu, Netflix, Spotify, Apple Music, Apple TV+, or Disney +might be the way to go.
Don’t want to support bigger media companies? Perhaps their favorite podcaster, YouTuber, or other creator has a Patreon or Substack you can gift them a subscription to or otherwise support smaller artists with.
If you are giving someone the aforementioned content subscriptions, you still might want to get them something tangible to go along with it. One way to do that (especially if you like sticking to a theme) is to upgrade their couch time with a great throw blanket or a fun tray they can use for their snacks.
For example, you could splurge on a Johnny Was blanket in vivid colors or prints or save on an ombre-stripe throw from Christian Siriano. Or you could gift a set of foldable side tables that they can use for snacks and more. This set of 4 trays from Pearington even has charging docks!
Would your giftee prefer some new tech? A pair of new headphones is always welcomed – or you could go big with a new tablet, laptop, or TV set.
