One thing I love about the fall season is that you really don’t need a reason to dress up. Throw on your leather, your fur or your cool-weather dress and no one bats an eye. That’s why I love this season’s tuxedo stripe fashion trend! The tuxedo stripe pant has made its way from black tie to street wear. Being able to take this trend that was synonymous with formal wear (and menswear) and spinning it into something perfect for street style all while embracing girl power, is the ultimate plus.
Tuxedo Stripe Pants Trend
Now, tuxedo pants are far from that of the bottom half of a man’s suit worn during a New Year’s Eve party. We women have taken a hold of this trend and made it our own! It’s not uncommon (and totally welcome) to see a sleek but sporty tuxedo stripe down the side of a pair of wide leg pants, leggings, or even jeans for the fall. This trend was prominently displayed on the runways in collections from Marc Jacobs and Giorgio Armani among many others for fall 2017.
How To Wear Tuxedo Pants
What has made this trend so attainable for fall is you don’t have worry about dressing up when you wear it. My favorite way to dress down a tuxedo stripe is with a pair of wide leg drawstring pants, a simple t-shirt and a pair of clean sneakers. The stripe on the pants will give the most basic outfit a fun twist.

You can also keep the lines slim and sleek with a skinny leg pant like this Ralph Lauren option. Pair it with a crisp button down oxford shirt under a black and white printed or textured sweater. Finish it off with a pair of black mules and you’ve got a black and white all over look that is far from boring. So now that fall has arrived, give a tuxedo stripe a try.
