The resort collections – also called cruise collections – can be an interesting mix of styles perfect for an actual tropical resort or cruise type of vacation, a ski trip, or just another new release to tide avid fashionistas over until the larger fall/winter or spring/summer collections hit the runways and the stores, respectively.

Chain Belts
These types of belts go in and out of style, but if you like the look in general or want to try adding a little flash to a basic dress or monochromatic outfit, now is the time to pick up a chain belt or two (if you don’t already have one in the back of your closet). This curb link chain belt by Vince Camuto is a cheap and chic option.
Inspo From The Sea
Seashells and other beach-inspired prints and accessories are popping up everywhere. While this is quite a literal interpretation of the “resort” concept, these items can be fun to pick up for your next vacation. Keep it subtle with a pair of seashell stud earrings or go all out with a literal beach print, like this button up shirt from Sézane.
Scuba and Neoprene
Speaking of oceanic inspiration, neoprene pieces or scuba fabric also showed up on the runways as well as on the racks. We love this technical fabric for upleveled athleisure pieces like this Lulelemon dress or this sleek LBD from Spanx.
Drapery
We always love a beautifully draped and layered piece, and the 2024 resort runways delivered. And while we’d love to wear full-on Grecian gowns on a regular basis, the trend has also filtered down to more realistic everyday styles like this Free People pullover.
Volume On The Bottom
If you’re a fan of wide leg pants, it’s your time to shine (and stock up). Keeping things fitted on the top with a slim tee is a good way to balance out the silhouette of pants like these slightly tailored wide legs from Banana Republic Factory.
Plush Shearling
While fluffy and furry coats never really go out of style, there was a distinct inclination towards shearling coats and jackets in the resort collections this year. We love (faux) versions of this classic that have a slight twist. For example, this Noisy may shearling vest would be the perfect thing to wear with jeans and a white tee shirt this spring.
