When it comes to pastels, I have to say that lilac has to be my favorite color. First, it is such a gorgeous color on its own. It is much more interesting and not as common as baby blue or light pink. Second, lilac looks good with absolutely every other color of the rainbow, so it also works with everything in your closet. And this spring, Pastel Lilac is one of the top color trends of the season. In fact it is one of the Pantone top 10 NYFW Fashion Color Trends For Spring 2024.
Pastel Lilac: Color Trend for Spring 2024
Pastel Lilac comes in a variety of subtle hues from light to vibrant. According to Pantone, “Pastel Lilac is a soft and powdery lavender hue, suggestive of a sweet aroma.” This color certainly reminds me of the sweet fragrance of lilacs in the springtime, which we will enjoy very soon.

Pastel Lilac At New York Fashion Week
As Pantone predicted, this color trend was shown in several NYFW Spring 2024 collections, including Jonathan Cohen, Michael Kors Collection, Carolina Herrera, and Derek Lam as well as in international collections such as Tom Ford, Dries Van Noten, Courrège, Maison Margiela and Issey Miyake.
How To Wear Pastel Lilac
As mentioned already, pastel lilac is fabulous on its own, but it looks incredible when mixed with any other color. It works with grey, black, brown, navy, olive and beige as well as bright colors including red, cobalt blue, magenta, lime and even yellow. Pastel Lilac is almost like a gray (only much prettier) in that you can wear it with anything else as if it were a neutral. Can it be that Pastel Lilac is the new neutral? If so, I’m game!
It’s easy to style with this color trend. Wear a Pastel Lilac top or jacket with your blue jeans. Or try a cardigan in the color over a floral dress or skirt.

Add a pop of Pastel Lilac to your everyday life. Bring it to the gym in the form of a water bottle or a pair of running shoes in the lovely hue. Do you need some new luggage? You can get a lilac suitcase this season, and I even found a cute harness and leash for your dog!
