In the latest episode of our podcast of “Beauty is a Bitch!” we talk to Lisa Moskovitz RD, CDN and discussed how to lose that Covid 15. She’s a Weight Management, Eating Disorder & Sports Nutrition Specialist as well as the CEO of NY Nutrition Group, a private nutrition practice with several locations throughout the metro area. With an extensive background in nutrition sciences and behavioral counseling, Lisa has successfully treated thousands of New Yorkers. Lisa has a special talent & dedication to helping all her clients no matter their specific challenges and barriers.
You might recognize her name from Good Day NY, Fox 5 News, and MSNBC too. So we were really lucky to chat with her. Her counseling philosophy is that there is no one-size fits all plan. The key to success is to find a program that will satisfy your needs and fit in to your lifestyle. If you’re constantly traveling for work, or frequently eat out in restaurants, following a strict diet will not work and may even backfire.
With the right knowledge and tools, she believes you can keep living your life and also reach your health goals at the same time. Lisa also understands having a positive relationship with food is key as is listening to your body. Mindful and intuitive eating practices are her top ingredients to long-term success.
She is an active member of the American Dietetic Association (Weight Management, Behavioral Health, Diabetes Care and Education and Sports Nutrition practice groups), the Greater New York Dietetic Association, the Academy for Eating Disorders, the National Lipid Association, the American Diabetes Association and the Collegiate & Professionals Sports Dietitian Association.
How To Lose That Covid 15
Anyway, we dedicate this time to talking about something that has affected most of us in one way or another and that is eating and dieting issues during isolation. Because some of us thrived (like Melissa) and others (like me) did an ungraceful dive into the weight abyss. The 10 pounds I gained are a lot harder to get off now that I’m middle age than they were to put on. But I am fighting that fight with a new dedication. I think I like to have a purpose. A goal if you will.
Lisa discusses how to get back on track in a realistic way. And we need to be gentle and give ourselves a break. We were eating based on survival mode and stress eating. Who else baked a ton of banana bread? I know I stopped making it months ago! Well that and the chocolate chip cookies.
So how do we now thrive post those months (of over 100 days) of over-indulging and drinking too much wine? Want to know what to do now? What should your first step be? Is wine really good for you? Take a listen! Because it’s not as painful as you may think.
