Summer is my favorite season and when August comes around I get immensely sad to see the season go. But summer is not over yet! And a great way to extend the season is to wear an endless summer look. I was inspired by Isabel Marant‘s perfect high waist slouchy denim pants and unwittingly I choose other pieces by the Parisian designer because (of course) they worked so well together. But you can get the look for less. Here’s how to style this endless summer outfit high and low.
Endless Summer Outfit High Low Styling
Isabel Marant’s casual chic fashion is a bit of an investment, yet her Boho styling will last forever, very much like vintage. The pieces can also work into the fall season as well. However I found similar items so you can shop this outfit for less. And the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is currently on (another sign of summer ending) so you can shop many of the pieces for a lot less cash. Of course you may mix the high end designer pieces with a few low price look-alike and wear this look high low. With high low styling the outfit can look entirely high-end. Make sure you wear one or two high-end pieces. For example, wear the designer pants or handbag with the rest of the outfit low price, and no one will know the difference.
The Endless Summer Boho Blouse
A classic floral peasant blouse like this Isabel Marant Orionea Pintucked Floral-print blouse is light and airy for those last days of summer and it will work well as a layering piece for fall. It is on sale at Net-a-Porter for $296 (it was was, $740!) but you can get the look for less with this equally timeless Allsaints Nylah Masala Top. The Perfect Slouchy White Denim Jeans
As I stated above, the Isabel Marant Étoile Corsy High-rise Jeans are perfectly styled. And you can wear white jeans year round, too. The high waist styling makes them modern and the longer length works with both flats and boots. If you don’t want to pay $290 for jeans, these Banana Republic High-Rise Wide-Leg Cropped Jeans are now only $39 and will give you the same casual chic look in a shorter length.
The Flat Birkenstocks Sandal
I am not a fan of Birkenstocks, however with these pants and for this casual chic look, this type of styling simply works! Late Summer Outfit Styling Tips
1. White Jeans. White denim jeans are ideal for summer, and you can wear them all year long! Especially when you are over 40, white jeans are a great alternative to shorts or skirt in summer. You will look cool, fresh and bright and still be covered up. Toughen up white jeans for fall with a leather jacket or suede boots and accessories. You can and should wear white jeans after Labor Day!
2. The Peasant Blouse. A peasant blouse is perfect for late summer days when the temps may range from 70 to 90 degrees, often in the same day! Choose a lightweight fabric in colors or a print you adore. A peasant blouse makes a wise investment piece. If you choose a designer version you will wear it year after year because this Boho look will never go out of style. Pair it with jeans, light pants and pencil skirts in summer and under jackets in fall and early spring.
