Kate Middleton, the Princess of Wales, was spotted in a Barbiecore look last Thursday during her visit to Windsor Foodshare with her husband, Prince William. Her pop of pink reefer coat and matching turtleneck is right on (TiklTok) trend, but we just love the color anyway, and all the time. Typical of Kate, the look is a classic! Her outfit is a fairly easy one to emulate too. Besides it is ideal for women over 50. The clean lines, bold color and comfortable easy styling is one we definitely want to wear. But many of us don’t have a Princess’s budget, so we styled this Kate Middleton Barbiecore look for less.
What Is Barbiecore?
As you may know, Barbiecore is a social media trend based on Mattel Barbie dolls and all things pink. It focuses on bubblegum pink and fuchsia pieces inspired by all things girly. It was a huge trend in the early 2000s, which we lived through, so to women over 50, it is nothing new. Kate Middleton styled the trend in the best way possible.

Here’s how to get this Kate Middleton Barbiecore celebrity look for less.
The Kate Middleton Barbiecore Bright Pink Coat
Kate Middleton’s fuchsia coat is by Hobbs of London. We love how she wears well made and practical pieces, and her coat was probably around $500. But we found this Sam Edelman Belted Wool Blend Coat in a gorgeous on-trend magenta color now on sale for only $149.99. You can wear it with the belt or without (to look more like Kate).
The Matching Bright Pink Turtleneck
We adore the clean and modern monochrome look of a matching bright pink turtleneck and coat. This Neiman Marcus Cashmere Collection Turtleneck Sweater is now on sale for $92 and is a perfect match. But don’t worry, even if you are a shade off, the overall look will still work.
The Black Flare Pants
Kate’s flare trousers may be a dark shade of navy, but we like this outfit with black pants. (Besides, you’ll wear black pants more often). And if you didn’t keep a pair of flares from the aughts, you could probably use a pair. These NYDJ Flare Ponte Pants for $89 are pull-on and comfy yet they still have belt loops and sewn in pocket details for a more finished look.
The Pointed Toe Pump
We can’t see exactly what Kate’s pumps look like, so we chose a pair for her. (Now we’re dressing her like Barbie). These kitten heel Sarto By Franco Sarto Devin Pointed Toe Slingback Pumps for $150 are just right! With the low and slightly chunky heels, she can get around with both style and ease.
The Gold Hoop Earrings
Kate finishes off her outfit with a pair of minimalist gold hoop earrings. We like these 1-1/8” Made By Mary Maude Hoop Earrings in 14k-gold fill, and they are only $50.
