Holiday and Winter Hair Tips From Sassoon
First I met with Ronnie Williams, Sassoon Assistant Color Director. She took my hair a little lighter and warmer with some shades of red in my highlight. She also used low-lights in darker shades to cover my gray hair. In winter our hair gets dried out since there is less humidity in the air. So Ronnie’s tip is to a get a Kerastase Fusio Dose treatment for your hair. These treatments are customized to your specific needs. For winter you many need more color radiance, nourishment and shine, body and density, discipline and smoothness, or repair and protection. I needed a combination of body, repair and protection.
Next I met with Josie Bury, Sassoon Stylist for a cut and style. She only needed to cut about an inch to clean up my ends since she last she did it a few months ago. I picked Josie’s brain too, and asked for her for some winter hair tips. First of all, she always promotes good quality shampoos and conditioners (such as Oribe) to keep your hair healthy. She also shared an easy hair hack. “Take a fabric softener dryer sheet and wipe it over your hair to control static and flyaways.” She also recommends using a hair oil or a serum to give your hair more shine and to take away a dull appearance in the winter.
Sassoon Celebrating 65 Years: 1954 – 2019
This year, the salon is celebrating 65 years of Sassoon. When you visit you may like to try a style from their autumn winter Salon Collection 65.2. It offers a fresh perspective on Sassoon’s rich heritage and showcases their legacy of cuts and color. The salon collection is influenced by a formative moment at Sassoon in the mid-seventies, when a new look and a whole new way to work with and wear hair began. The iconic layered shape of that time, The Shake, was the key inspiration behind this collection. Sassoon reinvented it for 2019 with the addition of reverse layering and three-dimensional color showcasing Sassoon’s approach to creating effortlessly fluid hair. I appreciate how the Salon Collection 65.2 haircuts can be styled differently, and easily on your own, as you can see above.
Sassoon Academy Autumn Winter
Sassoon’s Academy Collection is always a bit more eclectic, but women of any age can be inspired by one of the styles. Academy 65.2 was inspired by some of the maverick looks from the early seventies. The Brush, The Washbowl and Érte are all examples of these stand-out styles. Only this season these styles are given a fresh perspective using innovative cut and color techniques.
No matter what style you choose be sure to get your hair holiday and winter ready from a professional at Sassoon.
