Savvy Travelers – For Savvy Women On The Go!

I realize I should do a post on what to pack for a quick beach weekend away, and I will soon (as I am going away for a beach weekend by the end of summer). But in the meantime, if you are traveling somewhere for just a few days, you need to consider Savvy Travelers. I don’t know about you, but my toiletries take up most of my carry-on bag. There’s hardly room for my clothes, not to mention shoes. Or if you take short business trips you already know it’s no fun trying to stuff your beauty and skincare products into those tiny 3.4 oz containers allowed in the overhead bins on planes. I wind up checking my bag because I can’t be bothered. Not anymore!

It’s winter in NYC, at least on the Real Housewives of New York! Bethenny walks into work where Kristopher, her makeup artist, reveals he just had his fat frozen. I may have to try that. Bethenny says “You’re like the future Janice Dickenson.” Bethenny’s surgery is just 3 days away and while she is having anxiety about it, she’s keeping busy launching a new line of Skinny Girl chocolates, which is her last obligation prior to surgery. The other girls have been really supportive, most surprisingly Ramoaner. “She’s been unbelievable, who would ever think?” Apparently Ramoaner has been popping over with flowers and books to read so she can keep Bethenny company. It’s not like she has anything better to do.

Since I’m an open book and reporting on anti-aging products is my thing…I freely admit I have had Botox (ahem) a few times (wink, wink). However, I am always certain to tell the doctor administrating it, I don’t want to look frozen. I have a a very expressive face and if I can’t move it, it will not go unnoticed. I want to remain myself, I just don’t want to see all those damn lines on my forehead. So when I heard about Dysport® (abobotulinumtoxinA) which is a similar injectable to Botox, I was intrigued. Why? You know how it is in the summer. You put your face on in the morning and by noon it has melted off your face. Instead of reaching for your trusty blotting powder, why not consider one with SPF? Personally I’m really into mineral powder sunscreens these days. I know I’m a little insane with SPF, but I use a SPF primer and then usually apply either an SPF liquid foundation, BB Cream or mineral powder foundation. So I’m good to go when I walk out the door. However, I now make sure to keep a powder brush-on broad spectrum mineral powder sunscreen in my makeup bag to apply throughout the day. Why?

After last week, I’m not really looking forward to this week’s episode of The Real Housewives of New York. I’m afraid we will have to suffer through a cat Bat Mitzvah or something equally insulting. This episode starts when Jules walks into a restaurant called “Wild” and asks for a pillow for her cooch. Then Dorinda enters (wearing a hideous dog t-shirt) and asks how her vagina is. “All we need is a venereal disease, a DNC and a pregnancy and we’ve covered the whole vagina topic.
