While reviewing, curating and selecting the top Fall 2024 fashion trends, I could not help but notice the worst! So I laughed (hard), and pushed them aside to create a pile of fashion trends most women will never wear. I understand that the runway is a showcase of creative ideas that sometimes are meant to be extreme only for one presentation, but my concern is that someone may actually try this at home. In order to avoid any fashion mistakes, here are 9 of the worst Fall 2024 fashion trends for women over 50 to avoid. In fact, women of all ages will not want to wear these runway looks, but it’s still a hoot to look at them.
The Worst Fall 2024 Fashion Trends (To Avoid!)
So without further ado here they are.

1. Back To Bed
Who wouldn’t love to stay in bed all day? This fall we can roll out of bed along with the blankets or duvet and pillows still wrapped around us. We don’t even have to get dressed! The look is not too practical, however. How can you function with your hands under the covers/pillows? But It works if you want to sleep all day.

2. Flat Lays
Do you know how you lay your clothes out on your bed to see how your outfit will look? It seems the designers did that for Fall 2024. Then they stitched the pieces together and placed the flat lays on models to look like paper dolls. Jackets were magically pasted on the models. This is flat out silly-looking.
As shown at: Kolor, Pronounce, Balanciaga
3. Ginormous Shoulders
These ginormously wide shoulders are interesting, but simply take up too much space. Get ready to purchase 2 seats for your next plane ride, train ride or sporting event and be prepare to apologize to many people around you.
As shown at: Central St Martins, Vetiments, Luar
4. Ball O Yarn
Knits are always poplar for fall, but this season designers got carried away and sent hanks, skeins and balls of yarn down the runways. From super large loops to carved out shapes they rolled out a ball of confusion. (That’s what the world is today) hey hey.
As shown at: Stella Mc Cartney, Alaia, Missoni
5. Chintzy Prints
If you are a woman over 50, you probably have been there and are done with these floral chintzy prints. Well they emerged on the runways once again for Fall 2024. They are best left for wallpaper and pillows, (or maybe not even)! Didn’t I just drop these off at Goodwill?
As shown at: Loewe, Diesel, Rokh
6. Short-Shorts Suits
I admit, these suits are polished and pulled together, only something is missing. It’s called pant legs! These short-shorts have 1″ inseams. And this is fall fashion? Brrr! If they would lengthen them to about 30″ more women can wear them.
As shown at: Duran Lantink, Gucci, Versace
7. Only Fringe Skirts
Fringe has become a staple on the runway and we love it in small doses. But some designers made skirts entirely of fringe, offering us a new pantsless look we don’t want!
As shown at: JW Anderson, Ferragamo, Christian Dior
8. Poufy Protrusions
As designers continue to create new proportions, some are just strange. These drop waist skirts with poufy protrusions are not flattering at all. Besides I’m not sure what will happen if you sit down in one. They are only good to keep your distance from people.
As shown at: Comme des Garçons, Molly Goddard, Louis Vuitton
9. Molded
If you aren’t interested in moving or sitting, you can wear one of these molded numbers that designers sent down the runways for Fall 2024. (And where are we supposed to wear these?)
As shown at: Junya Watanabe, Alexander McQueen, Duran Lantink
Which do you think is the worst Fall 2024 trend? Or would you wear any of these runway looks?
