The Bar Method™ workout combines the muscle-shaping principles of isometrics, the body-elongating practice of dance conditioning, the science of physical therapy and the intense pace of interval training into a powerful exercise format creates a uniquely lean, firm, sculpted body.
You don’t have to have dance training or any other experience to take the class. The instructor will walk you though each move every step of the way. The challenge comes from the isometric moves and focusing on pushing yourself. The class targets every muscle on your body and I felt “happily sore” all over the next few days following the class, so I know it works!
The class I attended was at the Lakeview studio where I met the studio owner, Lis Settimi. Her posture was perfect, she was in such fabulous shape and a great mood which I could see was contagious among the other women who regularly take the class. Natasha Taylor, instructed a special class for runners (many, including herself, had just completed the Chicago Marathon). After the class Natasha held an open discussion about the benefits of The Bar Method for runners. The Bar Method can increase running performance as well as strengthen key muscle groups for safer running. It is a low impact workout that strengthens and sculpts key areas: glutes, hip flexors, core and arms – making it excellent for runners – as well as for everyone else!
