On Thursday February 9, the first day of New York Fashion Week Fall 17 Tadashi Shoji showed an extravagant collection in brilliant gemstone hues, rich brocades, opulent fur and gold metallic trims, intricate lace and plush velvet.
Will it truly matter if the groundhog sees his shadow today? This winter has been particularly mild! I just pray this post doesn’t jinx this climate change because I have been able to enjoy one of my favorite coat styles long past fall. I’m talking about the Masculine Overcoat which typically spends the majority of the winter in the back of my closet as I tend to favor chose warmer fabrics like down and shearling in order to combat freezing cold weather.
The sales are on BIG time and here at FountainOf30 we are all over them! Sure you can get trendy pieces for a song, but this time of year even the high priced luxury times are on sale. Right now you can get the best of both worlds if you’re a fan of dressing in high low fashion. I call it “High Luxe for Low” and it’s a sensible way to shop the end of season sales.
Today the kids are home from school and many businesses are closed in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. We’re taking the day off too! Finally! It seems like this has been the never ending year but alas, 2016 is almost over. What better way to shake off the old baggage and change it up for 2017 than to completely change your outlook?
