If you think that resort collections are designed for those who winter in St. Barths or Bermuda, they are actually much more compelling than that. Resort – also referred to as holiday, travel, cruise or pre-spring – are smaller collections designed to bridge the gap between the fall/winter and spring/summer offerings. Resort collections are usually shown in the summer but not available in stores until the winter, right before spring collections are delivered. In fact, resort collections can be a great way to snap up some unique pieces that few others will have while snapping yourself out of your winter fashion doldrums. Paper bag waist pants have been trending for a while now, and they aren’t going anywhere. They can be a great way to change up your work wardrobe. Just pair them with a fitted top and some ankle boots or flats, and you’ll have a business casual look that’s anything but boring. 2. Zebra Prints

We love our leopard print, but sometimes you want to stick to black and white and all things striped, which is where zebra prints come in. We think they’d be perfect with everything from jeans right now to casual dresses once it gets warmer out.

3. Safari Jackets

Yves St. Laurent first made safari jackets a statement piece for women in 1967, and that perennial style is coming back in a big way in 2020. They are practical as well as stylish, and perfect for carrying all your stuff without a big purse. While we’d love to invest in a vintage YSL safari jacket, this one by Sam Edelman is much more realistic and super chic.

We know turmeric is good for you to eat and drink, but it’s also a great shade to wear. In fact, all shades of yellow and orange, from golden to pumpkin, were featured on the resort 2020 runways.
