During her recent press tour promoting ‘The Perfect Find’ and ‘Gabrielle Union: My Journey to 50,’ actress Gabrielle Union showcased an array of stylish outfits that caught everyone’s attention. Among her standout looks was a series of black dresses, each with its own unique twist. One dress that stood out was the colorblocked black, red, yellow, and green swishy floor-length gown she wore in Miami, which designer Samantha Black calls the Dancehall dress. She captivated fashion enthusiasts with her impeccable style choices and the pop of color really breathed life and personality into the otherwise monochrome look.

Back in March, Kerry Washington made a stylish appearance in New York City, showcasing her fashion-forward sensibilities ahead of her guest appearance on ‘The View.’ Embracing the resurgence of ’80s-inspired fashion, she donned a vibrant lime-green and black skirt suit designed by Sergio Hudson. The suit exuded confidence and professionalism, embodying CEO boss vibes. Sergio Hudson, known for his impeccable tailoring, crafted a bold suit that accentuated Kerry’s figure flawlessly. Her white satin Christian Louboutin Pigalle Plato pumps added a touch of elegance. I personally hate the lime green, but if you want to punch up an outfit, this is the way to do it.

Kim Kardashian has been wearing a whole lot of black lately, but she’s definitely added some Barbiecore to the mix. This time, it was in the form of a hot pink pop of color when she paired the monochromatic ensemble with what are actually sky high neon pink Balenciaga boots. She paired the boots with a SKIMS bathing suit )partially unzipped) and some Balenciaga track pants as she stopped by Tiffany & Co.’s flagship store in NYC. The look was definitely part edgy and chic and other parts casual and effortless and the peekaboo pink certainly helped to dress it up and make it more stylish.

Celebrities In Black With Neutral Colors

Jennifer Lopez, the quintessential color-wearing queen, has added some black into her ensembles, but made sure to add some brightness with a neutral beige. And Margo Robbie, who has lately been spotted in Barbiecore pink shows us how basic black can be lightened up with a colorblock of ivory.

If you know anything about Jennifer Lopez‘s style, then you know she isn’t one to wear a whole lot of black. Sure, she’s done it before, but her go-to is color. Of course, when she does don the monochrome shade, she always sends it to the next level. Such is the case with this striking fashion statement at the Los Angeles premiere of The Flash, where she chose a captivating ensemble from Gucci’s resort 2024 collection with a sculpted black sleeveless bodice with a high neck and a zipper down the middle and a pop of beige. The dramatic plunging neckline that exuded confidence and glamour and of course, the billowing beige skirt and train, adding an element of softness and femininity. The combination of the bold black upper half and the flowing beige lower half created a visually striking contrast that showcased her impeccable fashion sense..

Barbiecore, it’s not, but Margot Robbie still turned heads at the premiere of  “Asteroid City” in New York City with this sculpted ensemble by Schiaparelli. Robbie’s outfit from Schiaparelli’s Couture Spring 2023 collection featured a striking combination of a molded corset and a pleated skirt. It was the skirt that added a nice brightness to the overall ensemble. Lately, Robbie has been the embracing some Barbie-themed looks for her upcoming movie, usually in the form of Valentino, and while we love the bold color, we also love when she goes back to basics. Sometimes just a small peek of something other than black makes all the difference.
