You know one of the first things that ages us … is our shoes. It’s actually true! “Do these shoes make me look old?” is a good question. When you are over 40 you no longer feel like enduring the pain of high platforms and stilettos. I can’t even remember the reason I felt the need to walk in sky high shoes 15 years ago, except perhaps to look taller and slimmer. OK, and also because shoes with heels are such things of beauty (don’t forget I’m the ultimate shoe lover/hoarder).
You can still wear gorgeous shoes with heels, and painlessly, too. Most designers offer shoe options with lower heel heights and cuts that are comfortable. Remember, you will always look younger when you dress like you care! Here are some selections the 25 year olds will envy, and will never be considered “old lady shoes.”

Tribute Leather Sandal, 4″ Heel, $925
Yes this is the “comfort” version of the Tribute Sandal! They are on a 1” platform, so now you will (secretly) be wearing a 3″ heel!
Lasti Stretch-Strap Crisscross Sandal, Black/Nude, $695
Did you catch in the name that the straps actually have stretch? No one will know! These have a 3.5″ heel, but if Carrie can run to Big in them, you can too!
Aquazzura Bel Air Caged Suede Pumps, $795
This one has a 3″ heel and you are safely secured in a stylish caged-in shoe.
Jimmy Choo Addison Printed Lace D’Orsay Pumps, Now $350.17
These Choos have a 3.33″ heel! Very comfy, and I think lace that looks like a zebra print is timeless.
Well, these Louboutins have a 4″ heel, so this may be pushing it for some of us! However, with the slingback and Christian Louboutin quality and comfort, they make the list! Besides they are so cool that no one will ever think you are trying too hard!
