Anti-Aging Skincare: The Top 5 SPF's for Eyes

SPF, Eye Creams, Skin Care, Dunscreen
June’s Skin Cancer Awareness month may be nearly over, but summer is just beginning so it is really important to protect your skin from the sun which I think we all know by now (Read my recent A Dozen Facial SPF’s Over 30 For Those Over 30! and about some of our other favorite SPF products). One area you may neglect (I know I did) is the sensitive skin under your eyes. I never used SPF there because I normally wear sunglasses and a hat. However, that doesn’t help much when you take them off to swim. Additionally, the sun’s rays bounce off the water directly on to your face leaving the skin around your eyes extra vulnerable. Who want’s more wrinkles around their eyes? I know I don’t. So here are 5 amazing undereye sun protection creams for you to consider. I have tried them all and will tell you a bit about each.
1. Clinique ‘Superdefense’ Age Defense Eye Cream Broad Spectrum SPF 20, $39.50
When it comes to sun protection, I have trusted Clinique for years! (I love their Clinique Sun Broad Spectrum SPF 45 Sunscreen Targeted Protection Stick, $21 which I carry with my everywhere all summer). However, this particular cream is meant just for the eyes. It instantly brightens and protects your skin from harmful rays with Superdefense by Clinique which means it also keeps you safe from visible signs of stress, pollution and skin dehydration.
2. IT Cosmetics CC+ Eye Color Correcting Full Coverage Cream SPF 50+, $29
This particular eye cream became a favorite while I was in the hospital and rehab recovering from my recent surgery. It does it all! IT Cosmetics CC+ Eye Cream comes in 5 skin-tone shades and looks like a concealer but it also lighten dark undereye circles, nourishes your delicate skin, reduces puffiness. CC+ Eye with SPF 50+ has optical blurring pigments which creates an instantly brighter look, while skin-strengthening ingredients target undereye issues for healthy, younger-looking skin. Add and SPF of 50+ and your are more than covered.
3. Kiehl’s Clearly Corrective™ Dark Circle Perfector SPF 30, $38

This sheer coverage treatment cream brightens under eye circles while also protecting them with SPF 30. It’s Activated C and Licorice Root Extract work to correct under eye darkness and 100% mineral filters work to protect delicate eye area from UV damage. It goes on very light so if you don’t like that greasy feeling, this cream is for you.

4. Murad Essential-C Eye Cream Broad Spectrum SPF 15 PA+++, $69
Protect the delicate and stressed eye area from the aging effects of UVA/UVB rays while hydrating to renew smoothness and suppleness with Essential-C Eye Cream by Murad. Shorea stenoptera butter and avocado oil work together to condition and hydrate for smoother skin; caffeine reduces puffiness; retinol supports natural renewal to help restore skin’s youthfulness; and light diffusers soften the appearance of fine lines and dark circles. Be sure to apply onto the brow bone and beneath the eye right after cleansing.
5. Supergoop! Advanced Anti-Aging Eye Cream Broad Spectrum Sunscreen SPF 37, $45
I have recently come to love Supergoop! Suncare products. Each one is better than the next. I adore this anti-aging eye cream because it goes on thick and white, but blends in like no other. This eye cream delivers powerful anti-aging benefits for a well-rested, rejuvenated look by reducing the appearance of under eye puffiness, fine lines, and wrinkles. It also soothes and cools the skin around your eyes with the help of a cool tip applicator (love this). The broad-spectrum UV protection guards the vulnerable, sensitive eye area from damaging rays.
Don’t forget about your eyes! They have been good to you and you only have the 2!
