Actress Nina Dobrev is often seen on the red carpet wearing Christian Dior gowns in sheer tulle, chiffon and lace. So not surprisingly she was recently spotted wearing a gorgeous golden floral Christian Dior dress and matching coat. She looks as if she is floating on air in this light and ethereal ensemble. Her green bag is by Ratio et Motus and she is wearing Kate Young for Tura tortoise cat eye sunglasses. Even though Nina is only 30, we think this look is sophisticated enough for women over 40 as well. We want to steal her style! But who can afford a matching Christian Dior dress and brocade trench coat (not to mention a $1150 handbag and $300 pair of shades)? We searched far and wide and came up with a few options so you can get this Nina Dobrev Dior look for less. (And I mean much less!)

Here are two options for Nina’s floral dress and coat ensemble.
The Floral Embroidered Dress and Print Coat
It was indeed difficult to find a matching coat and dress, but perhaps it is actually more practical to have pieces that blend together. It is also a lot less expensive. I had to think, “Who designs dresses that fit women well and offers light and airy styles?” So I knew to look for Elie Tahari! I found several midi-length Tahari dresses that are similar in style to Nina’s Christian Dior dress, but only a few in similar colors. Instead of a floral pattern coat, this sheer plaid trench by Lafayette 148 New York will work with the Tahari dress above. It’s an interesting way to mix prints. This coat will give your look the same floaty feel and would be a fun piece to own. It will dress up any look you pair it with, even your jeans. And it was $690 and is on sale now for $418.80.
The Floral Embroidered Dress and Solid Coat

The “No Shoe” Sandal

You don’t want to wear a crumpled-up cotton trenchcoat over your evening dress.
