I started by dreaming big about what I would wear if I had all the money in the world, and then I put together a very similar look for less. So I styled this outfit high low to give you options. What To Wear to A Fall Wedding
Fall is a wonderful time of year for a wedding and the weather is ideal if you are a guest, especially for women over 50. For one, long sleeves are in order and even if it is black tie, you can get away with wearing pants. And as long as it doesn’t rain, you don’t need to worry about what coat to wear with your wedding attire. I think figuring out what overcoat to wear can cause some fashion anxiety and possibly ruin your look!
Wedding Guest Outfit for Women Over 50
The best wedding guest outfit for women over 50 is one that is chic and very comfortable to wear. Therefore, my fall wedding outfit consists of a bright blue silk blouse, black wide leg pants with a wide gold metallic belt, gold shoes and gold jewelry. I have finished off the look with a black marbled evening clutch. This ensemble is ideal because it is bridges the gap between casual and formal, so you will feel like you are dressed right for almost any type of wedding reception (except black tie). This outfit will also work for upcoming holiday parties or even New Year’s Eve so you will be able to wear it again and again.

Fall Wedding Guest Outfit: High or Low
The Silk Blouse
Start off your fall wedding guest outfit with a satin or silk blouse in a bright color. I chose this Tom Ford Oversized Stretch-silk Satin Shirt in a brilliant blue for $1,450. A Tom Ford button down shirt in a color you love is an excellent investment since you will wear it dressy or casually, all year round and for years to come. Black High Waist Wide Leg Pants
If you don’t own a pair of high waist wide leg black pants I suggest you get a pair now! They are flattering because they skim over your legs and body and can almost look like a maxi skirt. The hosiery problem is solved when you wear pants to a wedding too! You don’t have to wear stockings at all or you can opt to wear sheer black knee highs if you like. The Gold Belt
