How to Style An Easter Dress Outfit for Women Over 50 High or Low

Are you looking for a new Easter dress? Or maybe you are in need of a new spring dress to wear to a shower, brunch or daytime wedding this season? That’s why I sought out the best Easter dresses for women over 50 and put together this spring outfit. I am also giving you the option of wearing it high or low. I started with this fabulous floral print Dolce & Gabbana dress (that’s on the high end) and matched it up to a lower priced dress and accessories.

Easter Dresses for Women Over 50

Florals dresses are a spring staple and will never go out of style. That’s why they are ideal Easter dresses. So what are the best Easter dresses for women over 50? Choose one that makes you feel comfortable. If you are like me, I like to cover up my arms and legs, even in warm weather. That’s why I recommend a loose fitting, light cotton midi-length dress, such as a shirt dress.

Dolce & Gabbana used this pink carnation print on a variety of dress styles for spring 2023, including minis and sundresses, but the midi shirt dress style is just right for women over 50. It has sleeves so your arms are covered, the tie waist gives you definition, and a shirt collar is flattering too.

Shirt dresses work on many different of body types and they can be dressed up or down. Wear one for your Easter dress with heels and a prim bag, or later with flat sandals and a straw tote. If you invest in a shirt dress you can wear it different ways this year and for many years to come.

Tips On How To Style An Easter Dress

1. Choose a pastel, bright or print dress in a style that works for you. A modest dress is best because you will probably be at a church service or with family. Plunging, mini and strapless styles aren’t appropriate, but you can wear a jacket or cardigan over a sundress or strapless dress.
2. Stick to solid colored shoes if you go with a print dress (such as my floral selections). Or add some texture with a woven shoe or pattern pump in a stripe or floral print.
3. In general, wear higher heel shoes with longer dresses like midis, and flats or lower heels with shorter dresses that hit just above or just below the knee. There are always exceptions, so you need to try them on with your dress. Luckily for our feet, flats and mid-heels (around 2 inches) often work with all hem lengths. They are the most comfortable too.
4. Add a pop of color with a small handbag or clutch bag. Don’t carry a big bag you wear for work with your Easter dress.

White Slingback Pumps

Add a little height and still stay comfortable with these mid-heel Gianvito Rossi Ascent 55 Leather Slingback Pumps for $950. They are a classic style and beautifully made of the finest leather. And you can wear them with everything from jeans to business suits to evening wear, so they are well worth the price. But you can save quite a bit with these Sam Edelman Bianka Sling 57MM Leather Pointed Slingback Pumps for $140.

Spring Green Handbag

I adore bright colored bags and one of my favorite trends for spring 2023 is Kelly green. The green matches the leaves of the floral dress but will go with any color you wear. This Gucci Jackie 1961 Small Leather Shoulder Bag is a must for handbag collectors. However it will set you back $2,950. A much less expensive way to add a pop of green to your outfit is with this Kelly & Katie Brooke Shoulder Bag, which is now on sale for only $34.99.

Gold Chain Link Drop Earrings

Bold gold earrings are on trend and these Lagos Signature Caviar Smooth Link Drop Earrings are drool-worthy for $1,650. But if you want a lot of bling for your buck, these Karine Sultan Angelique Link Drop Earrings are only $36.
