 Bill Reid will open a second New York City store on Friday November 14th in the West Village at 94 Charles Street. It is the brand’s eleventh freestanding shop in the United States.
“Our second New York City store will house what is essentially a highly curated assortment of our collections,” Billy says. “It will be a showcase for our most interesting pieces, many of which have traditionally only been used for runway or editorial purposes.” The Charles Street location will hold a highly organized selection of the products and special project items including an enlarged women’s collection, house-designed customized textiles, and the approaching launch of the MSL denim collection. The store will function as a launch point for new partnerships and projects and will store exclusive pieces of the collection not located in other Bill Reid shops.
After launching his first store in New York on Bond Street in 2008, Billy felt like it was time to expand in the city. “The West Village is a vibrant shopping district and a neighborhood that’s home to many customers who currently shop at Bond Street location,” Billy expresses about the new location. “We’d been eyeing a smaller footprint there for a few years, and we loved the Charles Street space.” In agreement with Billy Reid’s personal aesthetic, the 1,000 square foot boutique contains a number of original artisan details, including converted white oak flooring, hand-made bronze accessories and signage and custom furniture grated and finished in Florence, Alabama.

“We are excited to ramp up the growth of our store base and expand to the West Coast,” says K.P. McNeil, CEO and President of Billy Reid. “Having an additional outpost in New York will help us better serve this market and focus on the luxury consumer in a neighborhood we have long admired.” The company has ten supplementary brick-and-mortar stores across the country, and plans to add an additional four to five stores over the next 12 month, with target markets in Chicago, Atlanta, Boston, Los Angeles and San Francisco.
