Health Benefits of Turmeric

Turmeric is a spice that increases the anti-oxidant capabilities of your body, which protects your body from free radicals and helps fight inflammation and diseases. If you have less inflammation you will have less aches and pains, too. Besides its long-term benefits, you will feel better if you include turmeric in your diet.

What Does Turmeric Taste Like?

Turmeric is mildly aromatic and has scents of orange or ginger. It can have a bitter flavor, however the acidity of the lemon juice along with the sweetness of the honey in this recipe takes away the bitterness. There is only 1/2 teaspoon of this anti-aging spice in the recipe, so the taste is not overwhelming.

Popsicles are Fun to Make!

Making popsicles is a fun thing to do because it’s so easy. You juice the lemons and simply mix the ingredients and pour it into the molds. I recommend using an electric juicer to make it even easier. There are a variety of interesting shapes and colorful molds available. You will need 2 sets of molds for this recipe because most molds come in sets of 4 or 6, and the recipe makes 8 to 9 popsicles. Or pick up this Windfall 9 piece mold set from Walmart.

I made the recipe with super ripe and sweet lemons and these Anti-Inflammatory Lemon Turmeric Popsicles were delicious. While you are making them, you should definitely taste the mixture, because depending on the lemons and your own taste buds, you may need to add a bit more honey. You can see how the coloring of the turmeric and ginger floats to the top of the mold a bit creating an ombre effect. This makes the frozen popsicles look very pretty and appealing! Serve them over ice for dessert at an outdoor dinner party. They will make a great conversation piece, and they are so tasty they will disappear quickly!

Enjoy your summer with these yummy frozen treats for the long hot summer days ahead. And by following an anti-inflammatory diet, you will be enjoying many more healthy years to come!

Therefore, add a dash of pepper to any recipe that calls for turmeric for maximum absorption.
