When three women ask me what the best concealer is for aging skin in short succession, I know it’s time for a post. Concealer is brilliant for covering spots, brightening under your eyes and evening out skin tone. But as we age, we also want it to blur the look of fine lines and wrinkles and cover dark spots, so not just any concealer will do. We need the best concealer for mature skin.

Concealer For Mature Skin
Since mature skin tends to be drier, unless your concealer contains moisturizing ingredients such as glycerin or hyaluronic acid, you run the risk of looking cakey or like the concealer is just sitting on top of your skin. Radiant and luminous finishes, or soft, natural matte finishes, tend to work best on mature skin. Look for formulas that can be layered to build up coverage where it’s needed.
When it comes to concealer, the right shade makes all the difference. It might feel counterintuitive, but going too light won’t brighten your eyes. It can leave you looking a little raccoon-like instead. Aim to match your concealer to your foundation or choose a shade only slightly lighter. Also, remember that your shade may need to shift with the seasons. For example, I wear a light-medium in the winter and a medium in the summer. And since I don’t tan, I rely on bronzer for that natural, sun-kissed glow.
The Best Concealers To Try Now

Here are eleven of the best concealers for mature skin.
1. Doll 10 T.C.E Super Coverage Concealer With Peptides, $32
No wonder the Doll 10 T.C.E. Super Coverage Treatment Concealer has gone viral on TikTok. Just one drop provides concentrated coverage while delivering hydrating, skin-loving ingredients like peptides, vitamin C, magnesium, green tea and aloe vera. The silky pigment blend feels weightless and won’t crack, crease or settle into lines. It comes in 10 versatile shades and is clean, cruelty-free, paraben- and sulfate-free and doctor-developed.
2. E.L.F. Hydrating Camo Concealer, $8
I’m continually impressed by E.L.F., and honestly, you can’t beat the price. Their long-wear concealer gives up to 16 hours of coverage without caking or creasing. It’s infused with hyaluronic acid, delivers smooth medium coverage and dries down to a natural-looking matte finish. I even use it as an eyeshadow base because it wears that well. Available in 18 shades.
3. Dior Forever Skin Correct Full-Coverage Concealer, $42
This Dior makeup artist favorite is a full-coverage, long-wear concealer that does it all. The liquid formula provides up to 24 hours of hydration and transfer-proof coverage while visibly correcting blemishes, redness, dark spots and undereye circles. Infused with floral extracts like iris, wild pansy and nasturtium, it leaves skin feeling soft and hydrated with a radiant, soft matte finish. The creamy, buildable formula is especially nice for mature skin and comes in 30 shades.
4. Sisley Paris Phyto-Cernes Éclat Eye Concealer, $140
Yes, this concealer is a splurge, but it’s worth every penny. It instantly brightens dark circles, and the cooling metal tip helps reduce the appearance of puffiness. With ingredients including red vine extract, caffeine and carrot extract, it helps minimize the look of puffiness and dark circles while leaving a smooth, natural, non-creasing finish. With continued use, it also helps soften the appearance of undereye bags, so your eyes look more rested and refreshed. Available in 9 shades.
5. Kosas Revealer Super Creamy + Brightening Concealer with Caffeine and Hyaluronic Acid, $32
There’s a reason the Kosas Revealer Super Creamy + Brightening Concealer has such a following. This skincare-powered concealer delivers medium coverage with a fresh, radiant finish. Caffeine and pink algae help target the appearance of dark circles, puffiness and dullness, while hyaluronic acid and peptides help hydrate and plump the skin. Arnica and panthenol help soothe the look of blemishes and redness. It’s non-comedogenic and available in 38 shades.
6. Tom Ford Shade & Illuminate Concealer, $62
Leave it to Tom Ford to create a crease-resistant concealer. This medium-coverage, buildable, waterproof formula is infused with hyaluronic acid to help moisturize and smooth the appearance of redness, dark circles and fine lines. It leaves a radiant, natural finish that’s especially flattering on mature skin. The teardrop-shaped applicator also makes application easy, with a plush front for coverage and a pointed tip for more precise application. Available in 20 shades.
7. Maybelline New York Instant Age Rewind Eraser Multi-Use Concealer, $12.99
People have been going nuts for this drugstore concealer, so I just had to try it for myself. (See my review on Instagram.) This lightweight vegan formula hydrates, conceals, contours and corrects while leaving the eye area looking brighter. It offers up to 12 hours of moisturizing wear with crease-resistant coverage, and the sponge-tip applicator makes application and blending easy. It is available in 18 shades.
8. CLÉ DE PEAU BEAUTÉ Radiant Corrector for Eyes Liquid Concealer, $73
This concealer is the gold standard with a cult-like following, and once you try it, you’ll understand why. Its pearl-powered liquid formula instantly brightens the eye area, helping to conceal the appearance of dark circles, dullness and uneven tone. It offers sheer-to-medium, buildable coverage that lasts up to 8 hours and is infused with skincare ingredients. The color-correcting pearls help balance the appearance of discoloration without leaving behind an unnatural cast. The result is an eye area that looks fresh, radiant and awake. Available in 11 shades.
9. Givenchy Prisme Libre Skin-Caring 24H Hydrating + Radiant + Correcting Creamy Concealer, $42
I was actually introduced to the Givenchy Prisme Libre Skin-Caring Concealer at Sephora when I wasn’t even looking for it, as one does. I went in for a foundation, was handed the matching concealer, and it was game over. This formula is made with 95% natural-origin ingredients and offers 24-hour hydration. With medium coverage and a radiant finish, it helps brighten the appearance of dark circles and smooth imperfections while keeping skin looking fresh. It’s non-comedogenic and available in 24 shades.
10. NYX PROFESSIONAL MAKEUP Bare With Me Concealer Serum, $11
People are obsessed with this medium-coverage concealer, and for good reason. It’s a nice hybrid of skincare and makeup, with soothing cica, tremella mushroom and antioxidant-rich green tea. It helps brighten the appearance of dark circles, blur marks and leave skin looking naturally flawless with a finish that’s not too dewy and not too matte. The featherlight texture blends effortlessly.
11. HAUS LABS BY LADY GAGA Triclone Skin Tech Hydrating + De-puffing Concealer with Fermented Arnica, $32
The HAUS LABS BY LADY GAGA Triclone™ Skin Tech Concealer is more than just makeup. This lightweight, long-wearing formula delivers medium, buildable coverage that helps blur, brighten and conceal. Powered by more than 20 skincare ingredients, including fermented arnica, it’s non-comedogenic and hydrating. It also comes in 31 shades.
Bonus: HAUS LABS BY LADY GAGA Cruelty-Free Concealer Brush, $30
Makeup artist Erica Taylor convinced me to buy the Haus Labs by Lady Gaga Cruelty-Free Concealer Brush, and I’m so glad she did. It’s a total game changer. With its unique domed curve and pointed tip, this brush is designed for seamless blending and precise coverage, even in tricky, hard-to-reach areas.
How to Apply Under-Eye Concealer
For an added bonus, here are some tips on how to apply concealer on mature skin.
1. Apply a serum and/or moisturizer. This can help keep your concealer from settling into the look of fine lines and wrinkles.
2. Apply a primer. A primer can create a smooth base for your eye makeup and help prevent concealer from settling into crow’s feet.
3. Apply concealer by using the dab and pat technique. Avoid tugging and pulling, which is a huge no-no for mature skin. Work from the inner corner of your eye, placing a little concealer in small dots toward the center of the eye. Then use your concealer brush, ring finger or makeup sponge to gently pat the concealer into the skin, carefully blending it outward. If you are looking for a dewier effect, use a damp makeup sponge instead of a dry one.
4. Apply your eye makeup as usual.

I have a couple concealers but never use them. My makeup game has regressed with age.
Thanks for this info. Of course my under eye concealer is not listed 🙁 Now I have to choose a couple to try and even harder- select a color….well, not if it is at a department store beauty counter. 🙂 Luckily the store brands are cheaper so if I choose wrong I am not hit hard in the wallet. Thanks Lauren!!
