Salvatore Ferragamo’s Homage to the Foot
The Museo Salvatore Ferragamo launched its new exhibit “Equilibrium” on Wednesday. The exhibit is an exploration of the structure, scientific, artistic and cultural importance of the foot for keeping body’s equilibrium in motion. Running through April 12, 2015, the new exhibit takes Ferragamo’s methods, research and fascination as starting points to explore archeological research and works by artists spanning centuries.
Dov Charney Suspended From American Apparel
Dov Charney has be suspended from American Apparel Inc. amid allegations of misconduct. Late Wednesday, the company’s board said they voted to replace Charney as chairman and to terminate him as president and chief executive officer for cause in 30 days. Charney has been suspended from his executive roles and his termination will be effective following a 30-day “cure” period stipulated in his employment agreement. Investors applauded the move, sending the shares up as much as 22 percent to 78 cents in New York. The stock, which traded at $15 at the end of 2007, had lost almost half of its value this year through yesterday.
Cindy Crawford Releasing New Book
Supermodel Cindy Crawford is about to take on another title: author. In fall 2015 Crawford will team up with Rizzoli and launch a book about her career and the lessons she’s learned. Crawford said, “It’s not a biography. It’s sort of a hybrid book. It’ll come out in the fall before I turn 50, so it’s kind of a way to celebrate turning 50 as opposed to dreading it.” On top of the book Crawford is also busy building her skin care line, Meaningful Beauty.
