Farfetch’s Debut Ad Campaign
Online boutique Farfetch is launching its first ad campaign. It consists of print, digital and outdoor ads with images shot only from the back, with no faces or labels. Titled “Unfollow,” the campaign features the slogan “300 boutiques, 1 address” and will debut in the March issues of magazines. Farfetch is also asking fashion influencers and bloggers take photos of themselves from the back for social media. “We really wanted to concentrate on the clothes and the point of view of fashion, and not on the famous face or labels that consume everything today,” said Stephanie Horton, Farfetch’s chief marketing officer.
Gucci Staging Single MFW Show
Gucci’s new creative director Alessandro Michele is changing things up. The Italian fashion house announced there will be one runway show per collection, reportedly because a single show is more impactful. Gucci will be holding the show on February 25th in Milan during Fashion Week. In the past, there were two runway shows, one for press and one for buyers.
Rumors: Pucci Hiring Marco Zanini?
Industry insiders have indicated that Marco Zanini is headed for Pucci. The Italian designer left Schiaparelli in November and is rumored to be taking over for Peter Dundas. Dundas’ last collection for Pucci will be shown on February 28th in Milan, and then he is likely returning to Roberto Cavalli. Zanini has designed for Dolce & Gabbana, Versace, Rochas and Halston.
