The Spring 17 Collections from designers like Isabel Marant, Balenciaga, Rodarte and Kenzo channeled the glitz, glam and spirit of the 80s. These strong shouldered 80s looks were worn proudly on everyone at the time, and most memorably for me, on Linda Evans in her role as Crystal Carrington on the Dynasty TV series which encompassed that decade from 1981 to 1989.

I have been noticing and admiring many of the season’s midi-legnth bias cut dresses and skirts and was reminded of some pieces I wore in the 90s. One plus to growing older is going through a second or maybe even a third recycle of a trend. But what era did this style really originate?
