Lauren Dimet Waters for Second City Style Magazine
Admit it. You are sick of winter too. Never fear. Spring 2008 is looking a lot more colorful. Designers veered from black in favor of vibrant colors, bold patterns, luxurious transparent fabrics, ethnic prints and pressed khaki.

1. Bold Colors
It doesn’t matter if it’s pastel or neon bright, shinny or
matte…color is the way to go this spring. The spectrum of the rainbow
is yours to capture in every fabric imaginable. Designers who embraced
color on the Spring ’08 RTW runway include: Yves Saint Laurent, Giambattista Valli, Lanvin, Vera Wang, Marni, Burberry Prorsum, Gucci and Narciso Rodriguez.
2. Florals
It’s time to think girly-girl and what better way than with fresh
flowers? Prints from peonies to roses to lilies to hydrangeas infested
the spring runway. There was virtually no designer that didn’t embrace
florals, so you have no excuse not to come up roses this spring.
Designers who embraced floral prints on the Spring ’08 RTW runway
include: Carolina Herrara, Ralph Lauren, Michael Kors, Marc Jacobs, Stella McCartney, 3.1 Phillip Lim, Prada and Dolce and Gabbana.
3. Transparency
Do you ever dream you are floating on air? It’s time to make your
dreams a reality because urethral sheer sexiness is no longer for the
boudoir. Daywear and eveningwear have gone sexy in sheer fabrics like
chiffon, gauze, organza, tulle and silks. Designers who embraced
transparency fabrics on the Spring ’08 RTW runway include: Louis Vuitton, Jil Sander, MaxMara, Dior, Miu Miu, Marchesa and Monique Lhuillier.
