The summer solstice kicked off this week which means the clock is officially ticking on getting the most mileage out of your whites until Labor Day. And while a breezy white is practically a staple in your summer closet, we’ve combed the digital racks to handpick our standouts for a sleek, sophisticated look you can wear all season long.
Anyone can trot out a series of crisp, white pieces for summer and call it a collection. We chose to use the best of the best for this season’s source of inspiration, pulling the cleanest lines, the best proportions, and the most immaculate tailoring. Our first must-have item was a clean and effortlessly chic maxi dress that we could literally wear anywhere. Inspired by the linear dimensions of the BOSS Spring 2016 show, we chose a creamy vanilla for a goddess-inspired look from Rachel Pally that can easily take you from the city to the Hamptons and back, turning heads the whole way.
White pants begged to be shown off during the summer months, their brief window of when to shine. Designers take note of this, incorporating the polished pants as much as they can into their warm weather collections. Calvin Klein chose a loose and slouchy style, the perfect piece to punctuate the warm breeze of summer nights. We had to pick our go-to shape of cropped skinnys, courtesy of Blank NYC. With an ankle-length hem and low-rise, these can go with literally everything in our closet for less than $100.

White tops can be tough since you have to make sure the fabric, fit, and transparency factor are all aligned. We love the loose and blouse-y style that showed up on runways like Michael Kors and ran out to find a similarly suitable fit. MANGO says it all in the title of their Flowy Blouse. Flirty, yet still flattering and can literally get you anywhere from the office to happy hour rooftop drinks.
No summer whites wardrobe is complete without a Grace Kelly-worthy midi skirt. The closest we can get to an American in Paris, the movement of the midi will make you want to keep in rotation all year long; but the summer is when it truly shines. Narciso Rodriguez paid homage to the ladylike length in his Spring/Summer 2016 collection and as a result, we couldn’t wait to get our hands on the prettily pleated piece by ASOS at a whopping $49.
Summer whites are worth their weight in gold, whether you adhere to the Labor Day rule or not. Snap up one of each of these staples and you’ll be living cool while looking decidedly chic all season long.
