For some reason spring is refusing to show her lovely face but we are going to ignore that fact and brighten things up regardless. You already know I am all about brightening up your home for Spring. A warm and cheery solution is rose gold for your home. It is not quite pink and not quite copper but as lively and warm as both. Like any color there are many variations so you can find one to go with just about any other color in your home.
History of Rose Gold
Rose Gold was not seen until the 19th century in Imperial Russia when it was used by Carl Fabergé, the famous jeweler to the czars most well known for his exquisite Fabergé Eggs. By blending yellow gold & copper he created this rosy alloy known as “Russian Gold.” In the excessively decadent 1920’s creativity was abounding and many jewelers incorporated rose gold into fabulous pieces. After the stock market crash of 1929 people stepped back from their showy lifestyles and opted for platinum instead, known for it’s simplicity and cool elegance.
Rose Gold Jewelry
Flash forward to 2012 when Tiffany & Company alchemists created a new precious metal in honor of their 175th Anniversary. It’s a pink called Rubedo and is made of gold, silver, and copper. Rose gold came back on the scene in a big way.

Fashion and home decor go hand in hand so designers were quick to jump on the trend by creating home furnishings in every category imaginable inspired by this color.
Rose Gold for Your Home
Lamps are a wonderful way to add an element to a room without a big commitment and Crate & Barrel has a pretty piece with a mirrored finish that will pick up the other colors in your room, pulling it all together. Anthropologie has a charming piece as well with a white marble cubed base. They call it copper but it looks pretty pink to me.
Vases and candles in this hue abound. Horne has a beautiful set of vases that are begging for some fluffy white hydrangea. A set of votives in rose gold clustered together or spread throughout a room will add instant warmth and luster to a room. Or be a little more bold with a high shine cocktail or end table in rose gold.
I’ve got a thing for sparkles so I couldn’t leave out the glamorous rose gold glitter wallpaper from Glitter Bug Wallpaper in the UK. Why not do an entry way or accent wall in this beautiful design?
Keep on shining!
