The designers meet at SPiN, a club that combines Ping-Pong and a nightclub atmosphere. Their challenge is to design ball-boy outfits and new fashionable and functional server uniforms, as they are currently just a t-shirt. SPiN’s slogan is “balls are our business” which has to be incorporated into the uniform. Three female models and two male models will be used in this challenge.
Susan Sarandon is the owner of SPiN and is this week’s guest judge. The winning team’s designs will be worn at all SPiN locations across the country! After hanging out at SPiN and talking to the employees, the designers get to work and sketch their ideas. Five looks will be made and shown by each team, consisting of three female server outfits, one male server uniform, and one male ball-boy look. This challenge also used a professional screen printer to help with the logos and slogans.
Judges Susan Sarandon, Nina Garcia, Zac Posen and Heidi KlumMatt designed an outrageous ball-boy uniform, a kilt with the slogan balls are my business on the crotch. Heidi didn’t like it, noting the slogan was on the wrong spot. Zac cheekily noted that maybe the words were on the right spot!
Team Keeping it Real is the winning team again, which means The Dream Team is the losing team again too. Daniel, Layana, Stanley, Richard, and Joseph all got props for their fashionable designs. Sadly, James, Benjamin, Cindy, and Matt all got questioned about their bad designs.
