If you are are dreaming of going to the Olympic Games in Paris, you are not alone! I was thinking about being there, and what I might wear as a spectator for the events. That’s why I put together this Paris Olympics 2024 outfit.
Most of my favorite sports are indoors, like (my favorite) gymnastics, swimming and diving. But I also would love to see the track and field events, which is an open air stadium, so I would also need to prepare to be outdoors.
What to Wear To The Paris Olympics 2024
If I were at the Summer Olympics in Paris, I would need a versatile travel-type outfit that I would feel comfortable wearing all day. Of course, I would also want to look chic because it is in Paris. But I would not want to try to look like a Parisian, because I would be there rooting for the United States teams and athletes. Instead, I would want to look like a stylish American (although the French might say there is no such thing).

The weather in Paris this week will be hot in the daytime (in the mid to upper 80s) and much cooler at night (in the mid 60s). And the forecast calls for rain and thunderstorms, just like during the opening ceremonies. So it will be hot and humid yet you will still need a jacket (and an umbrella or rain poncho).
Paris Olympics 2024 Outfit
Back to reality, unfortunately, I will not be attending the Summer Olympic Games in Paris. However I can get into the spirit and wear this outfit here at home (our summer weather is similar) and watch the games on television. That way I’ll have the best seat in the house.
Here’s the look I put together to wear to the Olympics In Paris (or anywhere else) and I styled it both high and low. You can decide if you want to spend more on high-end pieces (on the left), or save and purchase the lower priced items (on the right). Another option is to mix up the high and low fashion, which is known as high low styling. All of the pieces choose are from American designers and brands.
Navy Jacket
A deep American flag navy blue blazer is a stylish topper for this casual outfit. You’ll feel pulled together for the Paris streets and inside the venues. This covetable Veronica Beard Miller Dickey Jacket for $695 would be perfect and you will wear it time and time again. Or you can pick up this Polo Ralph Lauren Knit Double Breasted Blazer, for $398 and save around $300. Besides you will feel like you are part of the U.S. Olympic team wearing Ralph Lauren.
Classic White T-shirt
You will need to be comfortable if the heat rises and a cotton t-shirt will do just that. Invest in this The Row Wesler Cotton Jersey T-Shirt for $350 or pick up this Treasure & Bond Relaxed Crewneck Cotton T-Shirt for only $29.50. In fact, you may as well pick up two.
All-American Denim Jeans
There’s nothing more American than denim blue jeans, and designers have tailored them to a T. These Alexander Wang Mid Rise Relaxed Fit Jeans offer a chic silhouette and are worthy if the splurge for $395. However you can go with “the original” brand, and wear these Levi’s® Premium Ribcage Straight Ankle Performance Cool Women’s Jeans for $98.
Comfortable Sneakers
You’ll be on your feet quite a bit walking from venue to venue and seeing the sites in Paris. These stylish Keds® x Recreational Habit The Court Sneakers for $100 have red, white and blue details. Or you can save $61 with these Tommy Hilfiger Lestiel Sneakers, now only $39.
Bright Red Handbag
Leave it to Ralph Lauren again to design an easy to carry basic handbag in bright red. This Polo Ralph Lauren Polo ID Leather Mini Shoulder Bag for $498 will make you feel like you are part of the U.S. Olympic team. Or you can carry this Joanna Maxham Prism Hobo, for only $265. Both bags are lightweight and are just big enough to stash a portable hooded poncho in case it rains in Paris again!
