Outfit of The Day: A Romper in Real Life On Someone Over 40

Here I am (well into my 40’s) and I still love rompers as much today as I did when I was a little girl. Good thing they have grown up too. I have already posted tips on how to ensure a romper is age appropriate, but the major takeaway is to be certain the shorts are long enough (if you have to ask what that means, you need to read my post!). I love rompers because they are simple to style, comfortable and not as fussy as dresses. Believe it or not, this one (which is one of my absolute favorites) is from Old Navy, as are my sandals! Actually I have been turning to Old Navy a lot these days – more on that in a later post. By the way, link to everything I am wearing are down at the bottom of this post.

Side view – I always buy my rompers a little large because I like them to hang a bit and because I am long-waisted and never want it to pull in the (ahem – nether regions) and be uncomfortable. My sunglasses are by Henri Bendel and I ADORE them. I have actually been asked several times who makes them. Now you know.

My gold bangles from BudHa Girl are made of leather so they are light as air and don’t make noise. They are also the perfect solution for someone like myself who has metal allergies but wants to wear gold! My fringe earrings are by Bluma Project and are totally on trend this summer. My watch is my late father’s Rolex and my ring is from a gumball machine my 4 year old gave me, mostly because it is pink and has a heart, which he would not be caught dead in and because he loves me (so he says).

This is the perfect, simple summer outfit. No fuss and I am out the door in minutes.
