As powerful as these sexual harassment movements are, I’m glad that they didn’t overshadow an awards show this time around. Political statements were thankfully not made in the fashions as evidenced by the rainbow of colors. Yes, there was a little black, but there was also red, white, blush and metallics! Color was back and better than ever at the 90th Annual Academy Awards and the fashion was strong yet feminine. There were some pins, buttons and brooches to show solidarity for sexual harassment (Time’s Up), Black Lives Matter and gun control, but I can deal with that since they didn’t overshadow the fashion. Stand Outs in Color
When does Nicole Kidman ever not stand out? Also the bow thing was a trend this season, but Nicole was one of the few people who actually got it right. (The bow was straight and not floppy.)
Red is a lovely color on Meryl Streep.

I thought this dress looked lovely and fit Greta Gerwig well and it didn’t clash with her blonde hair.
Octavia Spencer isn’t a small girl. She knows it. And yet she still wears dresses that are both demure but statement-making. What do I mean? Check out the color on this gown. Also, as a woman with broad shoulders, I adore an off-the-shoulder look like the one she has on here.
Now, this is what a Best Supporting Actress winner should look like!

No one is more stunned than me that this is Christian Siriano or that Whoopi is wearing a gown!
This is the Oscars! Why are you dressed like this?
