Known for making fantastic outerwear, the Nicholas K E-Shop launches just in time for this year's winter coat & jacket purchases. For the Fall/Winter 2010/2011 collection, designer Nicholas Kunz created a look that appears effortlessly thrown together yet sophisticated, with a nomadic, tribal feeling. The brand’s trademark aesthetic, slightly disheveled yet sexy, is perfect for travel and translates easily from day to night.
Oversized silhouettes appear throughout the collection with gauzy shirts and textured fabrics such as crinkled or bubbled cottons. The collection has Kunz's signature organic feeling, tied in with functionality and comfort as key elements. Statement pieces include vegetable-dyed leathers, long flowing dresses and detachable faux fur around the collars and hoods for added warmth.
Keeping with the theme, the collection's color palate is inspired by the desert and ranges from earthy, clay tones to sun-bleached and faded pastel colors. The abstract prints included on many of the pieces are reminiscent of tribal paint and desert fossils.
