How To Style A Neon Pant Suit Spring Outfit High or Low

Spring is just days away and it’s time to start wear the season’s new trends! One of our favorite spring 2022 fashion trends for women over 40 is bold highlighter marker colors! On the runways we saw brilliant lime hues at Bottega Veneta and bright sky blue at Rodarte. We adored the intense pink double-breasted jacket and pants suit at Alexander McQueen. I was inspired by this look and these radiant colors and put together this neon pant suit spring outfit. I found both gorgeous high-end designer pieces as well as low-priced dead-ringers, so you can choose to style this look high or low, or to mix up the pieces.

The Neon Orange Pant Suit Outfit

Any bright colored pant suit will work, but I was attracted to this orange Christopher John Rogers set in a luminous orange. The crepe blazer is $1,895 and the matching pleated tapered pants are $1,195 but it is worth the investment because it is quite versatile. You can always wear the pieces as separates (picture the jacket with jeans or skirts and the pants with a blouse or a t-shirt) but I like them best worn together in one uniform shot of color. Yes, it is a lot to pay for a suit, but you can also get the look for less. I did a little digging and found this Express Conscious Edit double breasted blazer for $148 with matching cropped straight pants in orange for only $80.

The Hot Pink Camisole

Believe it or not, one of the best ways to tone down a neon color is to add another bright color that is close on the the color wheel. (Choose lime with lemon, green with blue, or hot pink with orange.) This fuchsia pink camisole keeps the column of color flowing because the contrast is not as sharp as if, for example, you added a black top under the jacket. This beautiful Fayette cowl neck camisole from Intermix is $119, but you can get this Conscious Edit satin cami for $44 from Express.

The Blue Slide Shoes

I was going to find nude colored accessories for this orange suit, which is another excellent and safe option. However, it is much more fun to go with another bright color. These Bottega Veneta patent leather mules in blue will do the trick for $920. They are also quite collectible. But if you don’t want to spend that much on a pair of blue slides, these Marc Fisher Danria slip on heeled sandals are very close in color and style for a fraction of the cost at $79.

The Blue Mini Handbag

I just had to go matchy-matchy and choose a blue handbag. A bit of texture is in order here, so this blue Bottega Veneta Jodie Mini Knotted Intrecciato woven leather bag works perfectly for $2,250.  But to save a small fortune, this much less luxurious JW PEI Gabbi Bag from Amazon is available for only $79.99.

The Bold Gold Cuff Bracelet

This outfit has a lot of bold, flat color, so a strong piece of gold jewelry is all it needs to add a little bling. This handmade 24-karat gold-plated Gas Bijoux wave cuff is an amazing pieces you will wear time and time again for $293. But you can get a similar look with this Panacea large multiband wrist cuff from Nordstom for a mere $32.
