Fall In Line: The Military Trend For Under $200

The military trend is nothing new. In fact it’s been in style for at least 10 years, and come to think of it…back in the 80’s I wore a ton of camouflage and army greens. I digress. Yet, this is the first time in a long time, military has been deemed a trend for spring/summer. They are calling it “utilitarian” but it’s basically military. Utilitarian simply means “designed to be useful or practical rather than attractive (which one finds in the military).” Well I find the look very attractive, very wearable and luckily it’s very on trend!

HOW TO STYLE

So how do your wear this trend for the season? Pair a military jacket with some jeans and pumps, or try an olive green military sleeveless jumpsuit with sandals and your favorite hat. Try a camouflage lightweight shirt with cropped wide leg jeans and lace-up flats in a bright color like red. Or how about a long sleeveless vest/dress? I could go on and on.

The good news is even though many designers showed the utility/military trend on the Spring RTW runways, you don’t have to spend designer prices. In fact, we found all of these pieces for under $200 so you could easily pick up one or two to get you ready for the season.
