How to Rock The Best Spring Jewelry Trends For Less

With many of us coming out of pandemic hibernation in the next couple months, it’s the perfect time to plan your outfits for spring and summer, which for me always includes jewelry! I love mixing and matching family heirlooms and fine jewelry, like the many rings from my Grandma and my Cartier Love bracelet, with trendier pieces of costume jewelry. True jewelry can sometimes be a nuisance, for example huge bracelets get in the way of my typing, and kids can pull at earrings and necklaces, but sometimes it’s worth the risk. However, there is a wide array of spring jewelry trends for 2021, so a style is bound to work for you and your lifestyle!

Statement Making Chains

Both chunky and delicate chains continue to trend for spring. I prefer simple chain bracelets and necklaces because they are versatile and can be styled up for a night out or more casually for the daytime. One of BaubleBar’s bestselling pieces is the Hera bracelet. It’s available in gold or silver and will look chic on its own or layered with a watch and other bracelets.

This dramatic necklace from Vince Camuto is a showstopper! If worn, it would definitely be the focal point of your outfit. This would look fabulous in the evening worn with all black and a bright red lip. It also incorporates pearls, which are still on trend.

Modern Pearls

Pearls have made a resurgence on the runways since last year, and the timeless trend continues to evolve. These aren’t necessarily the classic, traditional pearl pieces that may come to mind, these updated pearls can be found in unexpected ways and are often mismatched and layered. I love the idea of pearl hoops. They’re so chic! These hoops from Urban Outfitters are elegant and unexpected. They would go with everything from jeans and a tee to a sundress and heels.

For a layered pearl necklace, Urban Outfitters also has this pretty necklace, available in gold or silver. Pearls, beads and different types of chains are perfectly layered. A bonus is that this looks like three necklaces but is actually one, so you don’t have to worry about untangling multiple necklaces at the end of the day.

Unique Bangles and Cuffs

Bangles are trending again for spring! They were in designer collections and all over the runways for Spring and Summer 2021. Cuffs and bangles aren’t practical for wearing at home, which is why I’m guessing they are coming back as the world starts to get back to normal. They are also ideal for short sleeves, so they don’t get stuck in your jacket or sweater. This translucent bangle from Vince Camuto is made of pink and red resin and is reminiscent of a summer sunset.

BaubleBar is an excellent place to buy trendy jewelry, and I love this tortoiseshell cuff featuring glass stones and faux pearls and turquoise. The colors remind me of a pool on a sunny day! I like that it’s classic tortoiseshell, yet it still lends a bright pop of color to an all white dress.

Layered and Pendant Necklaces

Layered necklaces are still trending and are a fun way to get creative and pair different pieces of jewelry together. This vintage inspired chain necklace set from ASOS is perfect for layering.

If you wanted to invest a little more money, Melinda Maria Designs is a wonderful place to buy affordable jewelry that will last a long time. (Trust me, she has a lot of my money!) This dainty gold Grecian inspired necklace is an ideal layering necklace and would look beautiful on its own or layered with other chains.

Longer pendant style necklaces are back in style too, which is ideal if you do not want to draw attention to your neck. This affordable rose quartz necklace from Target is an interesting octagonal shape. I like that the chain is unique and not your standard, everyday necklace chain.

Mismatched Earrings and Earcuffs

Mismatched earrings are trending for spring and summer. My mom loved this trend in the 90’s and always wore mismatched pearl earrings. She was ahead of her time! These celestial mismatched earrings from Urban Outfitters feature an adorable sun and moon and also come in silver.

I got into ear cuffs last year because I didn’t want to commit to any more piercings but wanted a little more bling on my ears. I have four different kinds of earcuffs from Melinda Maria designs, and I love to mix and match them. I can attest to these opal earcuffs looking beautiful in person. They will give a little extra sophisticated bling to your look!

The Latest Jewelry Trends for Spring 2021

  • Dramatic and chunky chains are still in style for 2021 and can be styled many ways – the sky is the limit!
  • Pearls are still in and are even more quirky – they are mismatched, layered and worn unexpectedly.
  • Bangles and cuffs are back in style! These are versatile and are ideal for warm weather and short sleeves.
  • Layered necklaces are still trending, however pendant necklaces are back in style also!
  • Have fun with earrings and mismatch them! If you want more bling on your ears, try earcuffs – no piercing needed.

  1. Because I’ve been teaching on Zoom over the last year, I’ve been buying more earrings. I like the sun / moon set here. Thanks for featuring all of these pieces. I have been vaccinated, so I have some expectation of getting out of my sweats and PJs soon and rejoining the world. And having some eye-catching jewelry will make the occasion extra special.
