The Best Sandals Under $50 and How To Style Them

Hope is in the air! After a difficult time for everyone, there has finally been real progress made towards a better and safe future. It’s looking like things will be opening up a bit more for summer. This means it’s time to get a pedicure and wear your favorite pair of sandals! If you’re in search of an affordable pair for the upcoming season, you’re in luck. There are many different styles of sandals available and at least one is bound to be perfect for your wardrobe and lifestyle. I’ve rounded up some of the best sandals under $50 for spring and summer.

Block Heeled Sandals

In my opinion, the most versatile sandals and the ones with the best cost per wear are comfortable, easy to walk in and can be dressed up or down. I’m a huge fan of sandals with block heels, as they check all the aforementioned boxes. This versatile pair from Target has 3.75 inch heels and will add a little height to your silhouette. They have adjustable straps and come in an elegant cognac color, or classic black.

If you prefer a slingback style, this pair from Old Navy is available in metallic gold, black and brown. They have a slightly shorter heel at 2.75 inches and would look amazing with anything from jeans and a tee to a sundress to a midi skirt and button down.

Embellished Sandals

An affordable pair of embellished sandals can be a fun way to inject a little flair into your wardrobe without the financial commitment! These calf hair slides from Nordstrom come in a chic brown polka dot pattern or leopard print. They would be ideal to wear around the house or for running errands in hot weather.

For anyone who’s always been a fan of the Valentino Rockstud look, these Steve Madden gladiator sandals available from Amazon might be a good buy. They’re available in a whopping eleven colors! You can easily incorporate a punk rock vibe into your everyday wardrobe, and these would look sophisticated styled with a neutral colored dress and dark berry colored lipstick.

Easygoing, Slide On Sandals

Each year, Birkenstock re-releases their iconic sandals in fresh colors for spring. This year is no exception, and I love this silver pair available from DSW. I’ve heard from friends that these sandals are a worthwhile investment. They also come in neutral colors like khaki, black and white at Free People.

Espadrilles are always in style and exude laid back vacation vibes. Gap has slip-on espadrilles available in six colors, including leopard print. These would look fabulous with an all black look featuring gold jewelry and a bright red accessory, like a bag or scarf. I still have my first pair of espadrilles from Gap I bought many years ago!

Mules and Strappy Sandals

Lately, the opportunities for wearing frivolous shoes have been few and far between, so any upcoming events I attend I’ll definitely be thinking through my footwear. I miss wearing all my favorite shoes! I love shoes that offer a bright pop of color, and these mules from ASOS are no exception. The eye catching blue color would look flattering with a variety of outifts, as would the v-cut strap, square toe and flared heel.

If it’s a strappy look you’re after, look no further than these block heels from Urban Outfitters. In my opinion, if it’s this trend you are drawn to, you should either go for straps or heels, not both. This pair strikes that tasteful balance with its low heel and square toe. It’s also available in white.

Tips for Styling Spring and Summer Sandals

  • If you want to add height to your look but still want to be able to walk quickly and with ease, consider a pair of versatile block heeled sandals.
  • Have fun with embellishments! A pair of sandals is an easy way to rock a trend without breaking the bank.
  • Slide on sandals are wonderful for laid back, hot days. You can pair them with anything from a maxi dress to a pair of linen pants and a tee.
  • We’ve all been cooped up for so long! If you have any get-togethers coming up in the upcoming months, go all out with a fabulous pair of sandals!
