This oversize double breasted black blazer from Sanctuary is very similar to Charlize’s jacket and it’s only $129. It has roomy menswear style shoulders and a longer length that you will be sure to wear again and again. This jacket is a must-have staple for fall. Just think, it will cover up a lot of the shiny silver pants.
The Basic White Tee
Charlize may be wearing a short sleeve tee, but this BP. long sleeve version will work perfectly under the jacket. Just roll up the sleeves. This tee is only $25 and it comes in regular and plus sizes. And it’s available in a bunch of other colors, too, so you may want to pick up a few. Besides, the long sleeves will keep you warm this time of year.

The Silver Pants Option 1
OK, so most of us are comfortable with wearing a black oversized jacket and white tee. It’s the metallic pants that you may shy away from. So now I will present you with four silver pants options. These MSGM silver faux-leather trousers are the boldest and most gleaming pair, and also on the higher priced side at $345. But they look the most like Charlize Theron’s and the faux leather will hold it’s shape. So if you are bold you may like these super shiny jean style pants.
Silver Pants Option 2
These shiny metallic coated skinny jeans from L’Agence are a great option because they look like Charlize’s leather pair, only they will be more comfortable. They are 94% cotton coated jeans with 2% stretch. They were $325 but now they are on sale for $194.98, just in time for holiday parties.
Silver Pants Option 3
If you like a trouser style, these Kasper slim straight leg pants are less money at $89, and less flashy in a woven metallic fabric. You may prefer a less fitted pair of pants like these but they still will give you a lean look under the oversize jacket.
Silver Pants Option 4
Leave it to ASOS to offer just about every color and style of pants! These shiny silver metallic pants are the least expensive of the pants I found, and only $56. With this option you can get the look for a whole lot less. ASOS is a great place to shop trendy pieces you feel you may not wear very often. But do take a close look at the quality of some of their pieces before you purchase and don’t be afraid to send back what doesn’t make the grade.
The Black Patent Loafer
These AGL black patent loafers look a lot like Charlize Theron’s but are a lot less expensive. They are beautifully made, have a comfortable heel height and will finish off the look perfectly.
The Black Top Handle Tote
I really appreciate how you can barely notice, but Charlize is carrying a fairly substantial size top handle handbag with this elegant outfit. It makes the look more functional, because she can carry a lot of stuff! You don’t need to spend thousands on a black bag because you can get this ASOS Design tote for only $40. The silver chain adds a bit of edginess to the outfit.
The Movie Star Shades
No actress would dare to go out without wearing movie star shades, and so should you! These Quay Austrialia x Chrissy Teigen (oops, I have the wrong celebrity) square sunglasses are only $55 and will make you look like a million.
How To Style This Casual Luxe Look Over 40
1. Wear only one bold metallic piece at a time.
To keep this look sophisticated for women over 40 wear simple and minimal pieces with a bold pair of metallic silver pants. Take it from Charlize and wear solid pieces like her black jacket and white t-shirt to tone down the shiny pants. She is not wearing any blingy jewelry or accessories either, which keeps this look modern and cool.
2. Contrast your fabrics for a casual luxe look.
