There’s always been something particularly glamorous about the idea of French lingerie. Whether it is the high quality construction of classic French lingerie brands or the sheer sex appeal of their designs (or a combination of both), something French and luxurious is always a treat to have in your lingerie drawer. Particularly once you are over 40, you know what styles you personally love (and if your partner likes them too, that’s just a bonus) and what looks good on you.

Whether you wear it under a dress or just around your house, a beautiful silk slip that makes you feel like a movie star is something every woman should have. Whether you let it show under a blazer or keep it a secret, a beautiful lacy camisole is undeniably feminine and a worthwhile splurge. A Robe That Feels Ultra Luxe

Regardless of the style you chose, it should be something in a color or print that you love and that makes you smile every time you put it on. 

A French Lingerie Set That Flatters

We don’t mean you should get a practical bra and panty set, although you certainly should have that as well. We mean a French lingerie set that makes you feel unapologetically glamorous and sexy. Virtually anything by Agent Provocateur fits the bill, especially the ballet pink and black Joan bra and panty set. Aubade also makes amazing pieces, and this embroidered red set is definitely worthy of a splurge for a special occasion, or just because it’s Tuesday.

A Racerback Bra That Doesn’t Look Like A Sports Bra

Sports bras definitely have their place, but they are not usually the prettiest pieces in your lingerie drawer.
