Spring color trends are everywhere you turn, and with so many options, it can be hard to choose just one. But one I’m loving right now is bright, electric cobalt blue. I’ve always been a fan of this shade, and now that it’s come back around in the fashion cycle, I’m excited to bring it forward again in my wardrobe.
Not that I ever really packed this favorite hue away—but giving it a fresh spin for spring instantly adds new life to everything. Hopefully, you already have a few cobalt pieces to pull out this season.
If not, I found some great options to get you started. Let’s go shopping.

Cobalt Blue Tops
Tops are one of the easiest ways to wear this trend, and I searched for options that felt a little more special. One standout is a printed crewneck with a bold abstract floral—perfect with crisp white wide-leg jeans.

The Contour Ravish top from Aritzia also caught my eye. I love the chic off-the-shoulder fit—it’s subtle but still shows just enough skin.

For something more relaxed, an eyelet peasant top in cobalt is an easy, throw-on-and-go piece. It’s effortless, requires minimal styling, and works just as well for errands as it does for a casual Friday.
Cobalt Blue Bottoms

I’ve loved this color long before it was trending. A few years ago, I owned a pair of paperbag-waist, super wide-leg pants that I eventually had to part with—and I’ve been searching for a replacement ever since. I recently found a linen pull-on pair that would be a great substitute. I love linen everything, and the fit feels much more forgiving than my old pair.

If you prefer something more structured, the Colette knit cropped pants by Maeve are a versatile option that will work with many of your existing tops. The silhouette is simple, but the ankle length and front patch pockets add just enough interest.

And for warmer days, there are some fun options, too. A midi skirt with a cobalt ombré hemline feels fresh and eye-catching.

Crochet shorts in cobalt and black offer a playful take on the trend.

Cobalt Blue Dresses
Lately, I’ve been leaning into more dresses and feminine silhouettes, so I was excited to find some beautiful cobalt options for spring and summer. A tiered lace inset dress is one of my favorites. The cinched waist creates a flattering shape and the lace overlay gives it a more elevated, polished feel.

If you like prints, a bold floral side-shirred midi dress is worth trying. I’m particular about prints, but this one strikes the right balance—it has a tropical feel without looking overly “vacation-only.”

And if you’re drawn to something more modern, a mixed media midi dress offers a slightly avant-garde feel while still being wearable. It’s a fun option for anyone who likes to take a few fashion risks.
Expert Style Tips
Think about color pairings. Cobalt blue looks incredible with bold, contrasting colors like orange, yellow, and red. It also pairs beautifully with other shades of blue and metallics.
Don’t default to solids. While solids are the easiest way to try a color trend, prints and textures can feel even more interesting. A pattern with cobalt woven in can be just as impactful.
Keep it simple. You don’t need a full wardrobe of cobalt to make a statement. One or two standout pieces are enough to embrace the trend without overdoing it. However you wear it, cobalt blue is one trend that’s fresh, flattering and totally worth trying this season.
