Stanley Cup Champion and NHL Chicago Blackhawk ForwardPatrick Sharphosted a private event to celebrate the Ermenegildo Zegna new store concept on the Magnificent Mile this past Wednesday evening. Patrick looked sharp (I could not resist the pun!) in Ermenegildo Zegna Couture. We were thrilled to have a chance to ask him a few questions:
Second City Style:Do you think athletes look best in custom-made clothing, such as the apparel found at Zegna?Patrick Sharp:Yes, I think anyone looks better! Athletes, maybe more so, because they have special needs for their specific body types.
SCS:What is the best advice that anyone ever gave you, on or off the ice?PS: (Laughs) I just answered that over there. I would have to say that it would be “to believe.” My parents always told me that. I was not the biggest or strongest player but by believing in myself, I was able to achieve success.
SCS:What is the best fashion advice that anyone ever gave you?PS: I think I’m still searching for it! SCS:Oh, I wouldn’t say that. You look fabulous!PS: I use the experts at Zegna to reach out for that kind of advice.SCS:We know you can’t go wrong with that!
The Chicago store design is based on the creative concept developed by architect Peter Marino for the Zegna global store in Milan. The store now covers over 4,300 square feet of luxury selling space with the addition of a second level. With all this new space available, the store carries the full range of Ermenegildo Zegna and Zegna Sport collections and accessories lines. The re-opening also marks the arrival of the Personalization Project, offering made-to-order clothing and accessories. This prestigious new program debuted in September in only two other stores in the U.S., New York and Beverly Hills.

Even the deejay, Michaelangelo L’Acqua, as well as Saam Hagshenas and Jonathan Marks of the local band ‘Hey Champ’ were dressed in Ermenegildo Zegna. Also in attendance were NHL Chicago Blackhawk players Brandon Bollig and Michael Kostka, both looking smashing (another pun, perhaps?) in Ermenegildo Zegna. Well-known Chicagoans Jerry Azumah, Eric Ferguson of the ‘Eric and Kathy’ morning radio show, Jon Harris, Stefan Holt, Bill Kim, Saira Cooper, Catherine De Orio, and NBC’s Alicia Roman also made an appearance for the celebration.
