Chanel Tapped to Design Holiday Windows at Printemps

A mock up of a Chanel holiday window display for Printemps

After a successful designer collaboration last year with luxury label Lanvin, French department store Printemps has chosen legendary brand Chanel for this year’s holiday window display. The Chanel designed windows will take guests on an around-the-world trip through a Chanel-infused fantasy land.
Neon Chanel logos and luminous stars and snowflakes will adorn the façade of the Paris flagship, while 11 exclusive window displays will highlight global locations that have inspired Karl Lagerfeld’s recent collections for the house. Four animated windows — inspired by Los Angeles, Moscow, Tokyo and Paris — will feature puppets dressed in Chanel’s finest.
To celebrate the collaboration, Chanel has designed a limited-edition red leather camellia with a single metallic petal, which will go on sale from Nov. 8, priced $615. Last year’s Lanvin windows were unveiled by creative director Alber Elbaz, along with Kristin Scott Thomas, but no word yet on whether Lagerfeld would be present for the inauguration this year.
