The 2017 Billboard Music Awards Best and Worst Dressed: Celebrity Style That Shined

The 2017 Billboard Music Awards had two very special things going for it. 1) Cher received the 2017 Icon Award at 71-years old and looked super glamorous doing it. 2) There was more couture and less sequins at the Awards than years past! That’s not to say there weren’t any…but I, for one, was pleasantly surprised at the high level of fashion I saw on the red _ er, pink carpet. Take a look at the Billboard Music Awards best and worst dressed celebrities.

Celine Dion in Stephane Rolland

This white, sculpted tulip, or whatever Celine Dion was, presented us with the best look of the night. It’s a little much, but so artistic. It’s too bad more music don’t forgo the sequins for this beautiful kind of haute couture.

Gwen Stefani channeling 70’s Cher.

Pointy shoulders are always fab.Especially in gold like on ageless Gwen Stefani!

Rachel Platten in Barbara Bui
Rita Ora in Francesco Scognamiglio
Vanessa Hudgens in Marchesa

Feminine, but the shoulders still speak volumes.

Lindsey Stirling
Lea Michele in David Koma
Nicki Minaj in a catwoman look

Even Nicki Minaj wasn’t as terrible as I thought she would be.

Some celebs even went for a vibrant patterns effect that looked great at the Billboard Music Awards but wasn’t overly metallic or sequin-heavy (thank God!)

Olivia Munn
Kate Beckinsale in Zuhair Murad
Hailee Steinfeld in David Koma

But of course, there were the looks that just didn’t gel. And sadly, but not surprisingly, Miley Cyrus was in one of them.

Ashley Tisdale in Tadashi Shoji

Vanessa Hudgens’ BFF does not look like herself (but what does Ashley Tisdale really look like anymore anyway?) — and the top half of this does not fit her well.
