Some prints make a comeback every summer, like gingham, tropical florals and classic stripes. This year, however, the print we’re seeing everywhere (and loving most) is the bandana print. From traditional reds and blues to fresh shades of turquoise, yellow and pink, this Americana-inspired pattern is showing up on everything from tops and dresses to denim and accessories.
Here are some of our favorite ways to wear the bandana print trend this season:

Tops and Button-Ups with Bandana Prints
One of the easiest ways to try the trend is with a bandana print top. A button-up like this one from Madewell pairs effortlessly with everything from denim shorts to breezy skirts, making it a versatile addition to your summer wardrobe.

Bandana Print Shorts
For those days when shorts are the only answer, a bandana print version adds a playful touch. We love this pair from On 34th at Macy’s, styled simply with a white tee or tank and your favorite sandals. They’re available in red and navy.

Pants in Bandana Print
Bandana print pants can be surprisingly chic when done right. Look for loose, flowy silhouettes with a structured waistband. The key to keeping them polished rather than pajama-adjacent. If you’re feeling a little more adventurous, try bandana print denim like this pair from Free People.

Twice as Nice: Bandana Print Sets
Matching sets continue to be one of summer’s easiest outfit formulas. For a bolder take on the trend, wear the print head-to-toe. We especially love it in softer hues, like this cool blue matching top and wide leg pants set from Aqua at Bloomingdale’s. Add simple sandals, hoop earrings and you’re ready to go.

Dressed from Head to Toe in Bandana Print
A bandana print dress feels fresh when the silhouette or color is unexpected. Case in point: this butter-yellow style from ASOS Design, which gives the classic print a modern, feminine twist.

The Inspiration: Bandana Scarves
Of course, you can never go wrong with the original. Tie a bandana around your neck, in your hair, or onto the handle of your favorite handbag. While traditional cotton versions are always practical, we also adore the luxe mulberry silk styles from Etsy and oversized shawl-like options from Saachi at Nordstrom Rack.

Like many of this season’s trends, bandana prints can be as bold or subtle as you want them to be. Whether you choose a statement-making matching set or simply tie a bandana scarf onto your favorite handbag, it’s an easy way to add personality to your summer wardrobe.
