CFDA Awards 2016: Beyonce, Jennifer Hudson, Jessica Chastain, Olivia Palermo, and more

The halter tops. The trains that start at the arms. The David Bowie tribute. Cut-outs galore? The amount of fashionistas that wore Michael Kors? Yup, that was the CFDA Awards this year in a nutshell. The fashion kick-off to summer event even produced a very “Prince-looking” honoree – Beyonce (although I think she was supposed to be going for a Michael Jackson look?)

Celebrity Style: 4 Pregnant Celebs Who Get Maternity Style Right

Truth be told, I’m having a difficult pregnancy. I had morning sickness throughout the first few months. By the 5th month I was waking up every night. I had leg cramps, swollen feet, muscle and nerve pains, brown spots on my face and stretch marks. In the third trimester, I had to go to the emergency room for an IV and dehydration when I came down with a severe stomach virus. I haven’t had the appetite that every pregnancy woman dreams of, but I have put on weight regardless.

I am 36 weeks! (Starting my 9th month) wearing H&M blouse (not maternity), ASOS Maternity Leggings, Havaianas flip flops (because they’re the only shoes that fit my swollen feet right now!)

One of the best things about this pregnancy, besides the fact that my baby girl has been safe and growing throughout all the scares, was the chance to embrace my pregnancy belly with maternity fashion.

The 2016 Met Gala Fashion: Manus x Machina

The Met Gala 2016 was one for the record books! Not only was every celebrity fashionista there and just about every celebrity fashionista designer represented, but suddenly the younger celebrity fashionista generation is getting into the act!

Baby bumps and Doc Martins with Louis Vuitton mini dresses ran amuck, but just how well did the celebs stick to the Manus x Machina theme? Some better than others. The fashion meets technology theme actually meant to hit upon mankind (Manus) vs. machine (Machina) but also about the fashion of the future. Therefore, it was expected to see lots of digital prints, 3D printing, laser cutting, and space age fashion. What did we see? Well, some of that – and also lots of gunmetal – to say the least.

Celebrity Style: The Return of BIG Florals

If you’ve read Celebrity Style articles at Second City Style in the past, you know I’m a big fan of celebs in florals. Whether it’s colorful or dark, bold or bright – celebs and florals go together like a t-shirt and jeans. OK, maybe that’s a bit of an exaggeration. Nevertheless, the floral trend is definitely something that the biggest celeb fashionistas have tried and conquered virtually every season.
