Outfit of The Day: A Romper in Real Life On Someone Over 40

Here I am (well into my 40’s) and I still love rompers as much today as I did when I was a little girl. Good thing they have grown up too. I have already posted tips on how to ensure a romper is age appropriate, but the major takeaway is to be certain the shorts are long enough (if you have to ask what that means, you need to read my post!). I love rompers because they are simple to style, comfortable and not as fussy as dresses. Believe it or not, this one (which is one of my absolute favorites) is from Old Navy, as are my sandals! Actually I have been turning to Old Navy a lot these days – more on that in a later post. By the way, link to everything I am wearing are down at the bottom of this post.

Kicking it Old School

All sneakers are acceptable these days, but if you really want to be on trend, think about kicking it old school…as in retro sneakers. If they look like Bruce Jenner wore them in the 70’s or you ran in them in the 80’s, you pretty much get the idea. They are cut lower than modern sneakers, have a smaller tread base and have some striping. Go bright or go basic, it doesn’t matter. To be clear we are not talking about your Converse Chuck Taylors (which never seem to go out of style) or Tretorns like you wore as an 80’s prep. Think more Stan Smiths, or old school Adidas or Nike. Once you see the options below you will get the idea.

Dove For Children’s Sensitive Skin and Summer Suncare Tips

I first met Dove Pediatrician Dr. Jen Trachtenberg (we simply called Dr. Jen) at a Dove event this past winter. She was actually my lunch partner and we talked about my younger son’s skin rashes – among other things. Let’s face it, when you have a pediatrician sitting next to you, you are going to take full advantage. So she recommended I try Dove Sensitive Beauty Bar for my son’s skin and sure enough it worked! It’s mild, hypoallergenic and fragrance-free…no wonder it’s the #1 pediatrician recommended bar.

Fountain Of 30’s Ultimate Father’s Day Gift Guide

Every year Father’s Day sneaks up on me and I’m left racking my brain trying to find gifts that are somewhat unexpected or at the very least unique. Seriously, how many bottles of cologne, ties and cufflinks do men really need or wear? Here are some gift ideas that will suit some if not all of the Dads in your life.

Summer Staple: Platform Loafers & Oxfords

Who would have ever thought we’d be wearing Oxfords and loafers in the summer? Yet, if you get the light as air, platform versions you can do just that. Pair your platform loafers and Oxfords with cropped black pants or a midi skirt. I personally love the silver Oxfords, but whichever you chose wear them all summer long. Be sure to buy those little peds to protect your feet so you don’t get blisters. You want to appear you are wearing them barefoot.
