Should You Splurge on Designer Sunglasses or Get Them for a Steal?

Designer sunglasses are a worthwhile investment. They are an accessory that will certainly be seen. After all, sunglasses are right on your face! And you can keep and collect your sunglasses and wear them year after year. Especially in the summer months, sunglasses are one accessory you wear practically every day. They protect your eyes from the sun’s harmful rays as well as the delicate skin around your eyes – so they are necessary! That’s why a good quality pair of designer sunglasses are worth the price.

However, if you are like me and you misplace or loose your sunglasses, or if you simply don’t want to spend a lot of money for a trendy pair of sunglasses, then you may be interested in the steals I found. Take a look at these designer sunglasses for 2022 and their look-alikes and decide. Will you splurge or steal?

Cat Eye Sunglasses

These angular black cat eye sunglasses from Celine are a classic, and flatter most face shapes. They can be worn all year long and are well worth the investment of $420. But if you aren’t sure about cat eye shades and want to try out the look these BP. cat eye sunglasses from Nordstom are a dead-ringer for only $15!

Aviator Sunglasses

Aviators are another classic and no one does sleek shades better than Tom Ford. His 61mm Gradient Aviator Sunglasses will set you back $415, which is worth the price to look cool. Or you can get a very similar looking pair of gradient aviators, also from BP. at Nordstrom for only $15.

Pink Butterly Sunglasses

These sideways heart-shaped Gucci oversize geometric sunglasses for $1,245 are so amazing. Sure, they are over-the-top, but they are such a stunning, sparkly accessory, they are simply fun to look at! However, you may have just as much fun wearing these Urban Outfitters Bri butterfly sunglasses, and they are only $18. (It’s exciting to save $1,227 too!)

Shield Sunglasses

If you want to really protect your eyes and look incredibly chic, these Cartier Shield Sunglasses for $1,145 will do the trick. What? You don’t want to spend that much for the look? Then try these Sofia Vergara x Foster Grant Veronica Sunglasses Pilot for only $28!

White Rectangular Sunglasses

White sunglasses are perfect for summertime! These Dior Signature 54mm rectangular sunglasses in white are so stylish and make quite a statement for $560. But you can get the same vibe with these Quay Australia Dollar Sign 55mm Polarized Square Sunglasses for $85

Red Embellished Cat Eye Sunglasses

If you like to invest in unique and colorful sunglasses, these Alaia 51mm retro cat eye sunglasses will make a great addition to your collection for $620. They have brilliant silver button accents on the temples, adding to their charm. But if you don’t want to invest quite so much on a pair of bright red shades, these Rad + Refined 50mm chunky crystal embellished sunglasses will give you the retro look for less at $68.

Black Studded Rectangle Sunglasses

Last but not least, this pair of Celine 51mm studded rectangle sunglasses are my favorite of the bunch. They are one pair I would pay the $640 price tag because I love the size and shape, they are black, which makes them practical, and they have the added bonus of silver studs! I could wear these all year round, too. But at a (very) quick glance, these Urban Outfitters Trip Chunky Rectangle Sunglasses look the same, and they are only $20. However, the frames are a black and white tiny check print instead of the studs. You get what you pay for!

Do you invest in designer sunglasses? Or do you get a similar style for a steal?
