Last night, ZARA held a party in honor of the opening of its Michigan Avenue store. While champagne and music flowed freely, and the shopping was tax-free, attendees were able to hear about how the ZARA brand has reached the popular status that it holds, as well as able to shop for some gorgeous, affordable clothes!

The best part about ZARA's business model is that it is you, the customer, who has the most say in what ends up on the racks. Managers of the various departments report back to the brand's Spanish headquarters on what's hot and what's not. Almost instantaneously, merchandise is changed to accommodate the consumer's wishes. Because of the popularity of items due to this business model, most pieces at ZARA are a sort of limited-edition.
Among many wonderful pieces that were alluding to designer trends but definitely not direct copies, I loved this real leather biker jacket that retails at $189. Definitely a bargain, and gorgeously tailored.
Another design that particularly appealed to me was this cap-sleeved dress, which came in black and grey, as well. It's the perfect day-to-night dress that will look chic no matter the occasion, or non-occasion.
Their displays were quite fabulous as well, and easy to navigate.
There were some fantastic booties and heels, that were beautifully wedged in between the displays. Everyone enjoyed shopping the gorgeous clothes, cold-weather coats included.
Be sure to check out the new ZARA store at 700 N. Michigan Avenue, it will be well worth your time! And, luckily for all of us, the retailer plans on opening another location on N. State Street.
