What Celebs Can Teach Us About Holiday Fashion: Salma Hayek, Blake Lively and Charlize Theron
It’s holiday time! Ready to deal with holiday shoppers, annoying customers, and lots of sales? Not sure if we are!
Lucky for those with star power, they don’t have to! While celebs might say they’re privy to a good sale as much as the next person, how many of them go out and look for one? There’s no need when the designer/offer/brand can come to them, right?
Well, maybe celebs can’t teach us about sales and how to shop for the holidays but if there’s one thing they can teach us it’s how to dress right. Right??
Here’s a fashion tip or two I picked up from celebs on dressing up for the holiday season.
Black Tights Are A Must In Winter
Movie actress Salma Hayek is always in style, so she’s the kind of celeb that could set trends walking out of her house to pick up the newspaper. Whether she’s wearing Gucci or a simple zip-up jacket, this Puss n’ Boots actress, who is married with a child, continues to know what she’s doing. So what is it we like about this ensemble, besides the burgundy color and the flared out skirt? The fact that she’s wearing opaque black tights! Every girl must have some! They are a must for the holiday season, whether you want to pair them with boots for a casual stroll on the town or with a dress for a late night dinner party. They look good for just about anything and they are slimming too!
Matchy Matchy Is Never A Good Thing
Blake Lively always makes a fashion statement whether she’s wearing a too-tight Versace dress or beaded Chanel frock. That fashion statement isn’t always want to see though. Like in this case with the suit that matches the pants, both in a cobalt blue. We love Elie Saab, yes, we do, but the blazer and pant suit combo is never a good idea, especially when its in a wild color like cobalt blue. In this case, Blake made a severe fashion faux pas. Kudos for trying, but we’re not going to wearing this matchy-matchy at our next holiday gathering.
Black Is Always Back
Charlize Theron, on the other hand, can never seem to go wrong with her style, even if she’s wearing a simple little black dress. Maybe it’s because she never goes over the top like Blake. Whatever the case, she looks superb in this Dior dress with sheer top and strappy sandals. She makes us realize why black is always back and why one can never go wrong with a little black cocktail dress at a party or gathering during the holiday season.
